I walked to the bathroom to clean the blood off my face. The phone lights up. “Deposit complete. Make sure to get what we need.” The phone hangs up. I exhaled as I turn the faucet on to splash some water on my face. I closed my eyes to relive my hit. What can I say I love what I do! I stepped over the dead man’s body to search for this little black book. I still couldn’t believe I took this little hit for this old man. What do they take me for? I’m top 3 of the month for crying out loud. I looked all over this small apartment, but that book was nowhere to be found. I walked over to the man and turned his body over. I stood over his lifeless body. “Where is the damn book damn it!” My eyes finally spotted a loose board in the floor. I smiled. “Sneaky old man.” I moved the rug that was barely covering it and lifted the secret door. The lights of the secret room turned on as I took a step in. The room was filled with money, gold, and all types of artifacts. And all they want is this little black book. He had so much in this small room I couldn’t figure out why only this book. At the end of the room there it was in a glass case with all is passports and important files. I picked up the book and left putting everything back in place. Once I reached the door. I could hear the cleanup crew doing what they do best. They all looked at me as I stepped out the trap room. “Hey guys, don’t mind me.” I walked past them giving them a thumbs up. “Thank you for all you do guys.” Being a wise ass as usual. I walked out the building and jumped in my car tossing that book in a baggy. Making sure it’s secured. In the back of my mind I wanted to know what’s in this damn book! I finally got to my room and ran a nice hot bath. That old man put up a hell of a fight. “I deserve this nice soak.” I said to myself as I slid my ass in that tub. I reached over to that baggy with that little black book in it. Just dangling it. “Should I risk it all and look into you book?” Like it can really talk to me. I sucked my teeth. “Fuck it.” I opened the bag and tossed it to the floor as I crack the book open. My eyes began to scan every line, every name, and couldn’t believe what I was reading. This man had so much power over a lot of people and of course they send someone to take him out, but there have been many that could never touch this man. To myself. Ha, it takes a woman to kill a man huh?” I laughed to myself, but quickly ended. I started to get upset at the fact that they paid me so little to take out a man that had so much power over them. My mind began to race. I wanted them to think twice before taking advantage of my skill, my passion, and my fucking feelings. Pacing the bedroom floor
I began getting and madder and madder. “They got me fucked up huh? I will cut their dicks off and wouldn’t give fuck. I have too much skill to be paid 20,000 dollars with a quarter million book like this. I need more than this.” I stopped pacing and closed my eyes to calm my nerves. Then it clicked. “I have a better idea.” Once I said that the phone lit up. I answered and put the phone to my ear. “Meet Dr. Edwin at the location sent to you.” The phone hangs up. I looked up to the ceiling trying to think what I should do. I exhaled should I risk it all or take the money and move on.” My pride was hurt because I knew what I was worth to this company and they played me like I was a rookie in the game. Knowing I don’t have a lot of time. I had to do what’s right. “Fuck it.” I put my clothes on and grabbed that little black book and made my way to the location. My nervous were everywhere and plus I stopped smoking so that didn’t make it no better. Not that I was anxious, but I was a little excited. Dr. Edwin was a fine man and smart. Knowing that I’m finally meeting him for the first time and he knows how good I am in what I do makes me feel that entitled, but on the other hand he knows my skill and pays me only 20,000 dollars to keep his name clean. Oh yes Dr. Edwin you're in that little black book too. The reason why I have it now. An SUV pulled up behind me with their lights off. My phone lights up a text saying. “Get in.” I stepped out of the car fearless as always and got in the backseat. Dr. Edwin greets me with smooth smile like he was trying to impress me with those beautiful white teeth and he did. I almost lost my cool, but quickly reeled it in. “Rose, It’s so nice to finally meet you. I heard nothing, but good things about you.” He extended his strong well-manicured and soft hand to me. It felt as my heart was beating in my throat. This man by far is the finest man I’ve ever seen. I looked him in his dreamy hazel eyes trying to get my words together before I said stupid. I extend my hand. “Nice to meet you as well.” Fuck that was hard.” I thought in my head. “Do you have something for me?” I went into my purse. “Of course I do doctor.” He smiled. “You don’t have to call me that. Just Edwin would be good.” Right when he said that. It started to rain. It was so unexpected it was a little creepy, but a little romantic. I guess my fantasy was coming true with me and doctor I mean Edwin. I pinched my leg. “Bitch, FOCUS!” I told myself. Edwin was looking out the window. “Wow! It’s really coming down out there. I’m going to have the driver drop you off closer.” I smiled. “Thank you. You're so sweet.” The driver moved up closer and put us back in park. I turned to Edwin. “I have a question to ask and I want you to be honest with me please.” He took a sip of his water. “Yes, anything, but can we make this quick I have other things to do. “My jaw tightened. I took a deep breath trying to keep my cool. I hate to be rushed, especially when I do something for you. “Okay, well I just want to know. Why pay me so little for such a big hit. Even when you know how skilled I am?” He laughed as he took another sip of his water. “Rose, it’s not a big deal I was going to send another 20,000 once the book was in my hand, unless you don’t want it. Yes, I know how talented you are, but come on I could have done this in my sleep.” He went to his phone and sent another 20,000. He raised the phone to my face so I can see that the deposit was completed. My face was blank and I felt my head tilt to the side. I knew I had to exit the vehicle before he said something else to be removed from my wet dream. I smiled and shook my head. I reached down in my purse and handed him the baggy with the little black book inside. “Dr. Edwin was a pleasure meeting you. You enjoy your night.” Before he could get a word out. I was already slamming the SUV door and getting back in my car. My hands were shaking with rage, my teeth began to grind as the anger built inside of me. I started to drive off, but my anger wouldn’t let me. I pushed my door open and pulled out both of my desert eagles and aimed them towards the SUV, but before I could pull the trigger I jumped back in the car as they sped past me almost taking me out, but instead they took my door. “You fucking asshole!” I yelled. They got to the exit of the land field and the SUV exploded like a hot air balloon. The SUV went up in flames as it should. I busted out laughing uncontrollably. I jumped in my car and drove the other direction watching the flames in my rearview. I finally stopped laughing once I got to the chop shop to get some new wheels. I pulled in and all the guys started to laugh once they saw my door missing. I got out of the car. “I don’t see nothing funny.” I turned around letting them see my eagle in the back of my jeans. They all stopped laughing then. “Yeah, that's what I thought motherfucka.” Once Gene found me a car I didn’t hesitate and got out of dodge. I got my ass on the plane and went off the grid. Knowing one day they will be looking for me and this little black book. I smiled to myself. “I told him I was worth more than 20,000. Now I’m worth 40,000 and a quarter million with this book.”
