A Killers Match
He got to his feet and his shadow moved over her, while drops of cool water fell from his body onto her hot skin. She lay there almost entirely lifeless. If it wasn’t for the searing red cuts and blue bruises that flushed across her body, he’d have believed she was dead. But she wasn’t. Her eyes glared up at him with a rage that pumped through her entire body. Sweat streaming down her forehead as if she was still fighting despite her body not being able to move.

Just Another Guy
He sat in his car in the office car park, his knuckles turning white from clenching the wheel so hard. She’d been a fiery one. They say that’s the case with red heads, but until last night he’d thought it was just a turn of phrase. Perhaps not. One thing was for certain, debating internally if the colour of her hair had an effect on her personality was not a priority. He’d made a mistake. A fatal one.

Forget Me Not
My heart pounded as we entered the church. We staggered it so it wouldn’t be so obvious that we’d come together. Some of the others had attended for a few weeks prior so people wouldn’t be suspicious about the mass turn out. I hadn’t been worried though - religious types were always blind to the truth as long as it fit their narrative.

"Mr. Wahid after gathering all of the evidence against you long with the witnesses that’s come forth, I want to firstly say that your acts of negligence and deceit are utterly shameful. You took an oath that you have failed to uphold, I sentence you to five years in prison, your license to practice medicine in the united states will be revoked"

Forgetting
If you could help a criminal get away with something big for twenty thousand dollars, would you do it? That was the question I dealt with as I stood in my little shop, surrounded by my talismans and my herbs and my medicines and my incense and my black cat, Leona, and three burly men in suits.

Frenemies
Kneeled down, I close my eyes for a second. Take in some air, then exhale. I'm too familiar with this moment but for some reason it feels like my first meet. Palms of my hands are sweaty, feet trembling -wont stay planted onto the ground, and i keep getting these brief but weird thoughts where i second guess myself. Probably because I am about to race new kid from Jefferson. Miles Dennis is his name. He's pretty good from what I hear. The story is he's an Army brat that's been running with his dad all his life. He just transferred here from Texas, and supposedly brought along with him a bunch of medals and track records.

The Little Black Book Of Murder
In all the years that Lydia Graham had worked for The Philadelphia Police Department, she had never considered that her job as the coroner would take a sinister route… That she’d have to use her skills and her cunning for far darker things than just coming up with a cause of death. Least of all, she’d never thought that she would have to go under her wife’s nose to do it. Could she bear that burden? Could she really pull off such a momentous and heinous act, meanwhile pretending to be the same woman she’d always been? The stakes would be incredibly high and that morning, over a cup of steaming hot coffee, she weighed the pros and cons of ending her father-in-law’s life and considered the reasons he needed to die.

Unlikely Beginnings
Jessica Morgan stood still trying to catch her breath. Her head was spinning out of control, and she felt like she would collapse at any moment. Joe Spencer lay limp at her feet. She did not mean to hurt him, only to protect herself. She knelt with her heart trying to jump out of her chest and placed her fingers on his neck. She could not feel anything. She had never checked anyone for a pulse before and did not know if she was doing it correctly.
