CHINESE HITMEN STORY
In 2013, two Chinese business men, they got into some squabbles. Their quarreling led to one of them thinking, this one decided that this is how we are going to be living. He will regret it. What does he do? He finds a hitman and pays him, to finish the other businessman. The hit-man’s second name must be [Kinuthia] because he's business minded. He thought to himself, Do I have the energy to kill anyone? I don't. But do I have the mind to sub-contract someone to kill them on my behalf? Oh yes. The first hitman looked for another hitman, and paid him half of what he had been paid. He told him, this man ought to be buried, go do your thing. The second hitman accepted. The second hitman thought to himself, Do I have it in me to kill a person? That's a lie. What I'll do is, I'll hold onto some of the money, and I'll give the rest of the money to another hitman, to execute this. And that's exactly what he did. He looked for another hitman, and promised him good money, and told him that this person ought to be in the ground. Okay. The third hitman was given a contract. He's to finish the other guy. But he also thought to himself, Do I really have the energy to finish someone? No. What I'll do is, I'll hold onto some of the money I have received, then, with the excess, I'll find someone to kill the guy. He looked for a hitman and told him, this business man should be in the ground. Okay, no problem. This is the fourth hitman being hired. The fourth hitman thought to himself, and he wondered, Can I really kill someone? No. I will not walk in the devil's ways. What I'll do is, I'll find someone, and give them some money, I'll hold on to a little cash. And tell him to do his thing. He looked for a hitman. Hitman number five. And he told him, this person ought to be buried. Go do your thing, I'll pay you multiple amount. Hitman number five, counted the money he was paid and thought, okay, I should finish this one, and this is the money I have been paid. Should I do this? No. I have to make good money. What does Hitman number five do? Hitman number five looks for the businessman and tells him, as you see me here, I should kill you. But I don't think you are worth the money this person is paying. I think we can make much more, so, do this, pay me some cash, so we can fake your death, and see if we can make this money together. The one who was to die said, thank you very much for coming. And I love your idea. Let us fake my death and see whether I'll scare the guy by showing up. Surprise! I did not die. They decide to fake the death of the businessman. The guy pockets the money he had been paid, and he counts on the other businessman to pay him something so he can make good money. He didn't know that the one who was to die rushed to the police. He reported it and they were arrested one by one. From hitman number five, number four, number three, number two, number one, and the owner of the contract, who was the rival businessman. They were all arrested and taken to jail. And they are all sentenced to 3-4 years depending on the gravity of the matter. The mastermind was sentenced to four, they were all decreasing. 3 years 10 months, 3 years 7 months, 3 years 8 months, decreasing. I think the last one was sentenced to three years. Imagine, the one who came up with the brilliant idea of faking his death. He was also sentenced to three years in prison. Yeah. That's where things went wrong.

TERRORISM
Title: Terrorism: A Global Threat and Its Complex DynamicsIntroductionTerrorism is a global phenomenon that has plagued societies for decades. It is a multifaceted issue that transcends borders, ideologies, and cultures, posing a significant challenge to the security and stability of nations worldwide. This essay delves into the multifaceted nature of terrorism, its root causes, consequences, and the global efforts to counter it, encapsulating the complexity of this pervasive threat.Defining TerrorismDefining terrorism is a complex task due to its diverse manifestations. Generally, terrorism can be described as the deliberate use of violence, often targeting civilians, to instill fear and achieve political, religious, or ideological goals. Acts of terrorism can range from bombings and shootings to cyberattacks and bioterrorism, making it difficult to establish a universal definition.Root Causes of TerrorismTerrorism doesn't emerge in a vacuum; it often has deep-rooted causes. Several factors contribute to the rise of terrorism:1. Political Discontent: Political oppression, lack of representation, and governance failures can breed dissatisfaction and radicalization among marginalized groups.2. Religious Extremism: Extremist interpretations of religious doctrines can fuel terrorist ideologies, leading individuals or groups to commit violent acts in the name of their faith.3. Socioeconomic Factors: Poverty, unemployment, and inequality can create environments where extremist ideologies find fertile ground.4. Ethnic and Cultural Tensions: Long-standing ethnic or cultural conflicts can provide a backdrop for extremist movements seeking to exploit these divisions.5. Ideological Motivations: Various ideologies, including nationalism, separatism, and anarchism, can motivate individuals or groups to resort to terrorism to achieve their objectives.Consequences of TerrorismThe impact of terrorism extends far beyond its immediate victims. It inflicts severe social, economic, and psychological consequences:1. Loss of Lives: Terrorism results in the tragic loss of innocent lives, leaving families shattered and communities traumatized.2. Economic Costs: Terrorist attacks can disrupt economies by damaging infrastructure, reducing tourism, and increasing security expenses.3. Fear and Anxiety: Terrorism breeds fear and anxiety within societies, affecting people's daily lives and mental well-being.4. Erosion of Civil Liberties: Counterterrorism measures may lead to the erosion of civil liberties and the infringement of individual rights.5. Political Instability: Prolonged terrorism can destabilize governments and regions, exacerbating conflicts and leading to further violence.Global Efforts to Counter TerrorismThe fight against terrorism is a global endeavor that involves multiple stakeholders, including governments, international organizations, and civil society:1. Counterterrorism Policies: Nations implement counterterrorism policies and legislation to combat terrorism within their borders, often focusing on intelligence sharing, law enforcement, and military operations.2. International Cooperation: Countries cooperate through organizations like the United Nations and INTERPOL to share intelligence, coordinate efforts, and combat transnational terrorist networks.3. Intelligence Sharing: Effective intelligence sharing is crucial in identifying and thwarting terrorist threats before they materialize.4. Countering Radicalization: Initiatives are launched to counter radicalization through education, community engagement, and social programs that offer alternatives to extremism.5. De-radicalization Programs: Some countries offer de-radicalization programs to rehabilitate individuals involved in terrorism and reintegrate them into society.Challenges in Countering TerrorismDespite global efforts, terrorism remains a persistent challenge due to various obstacles:1. Transnational Nature: Terrorist groups often operate across borders, making it difficult for individual nations to combat them effectively.2. Online Recruitment: The internet provides a platform for radicalization and recruitment, making it challenging to monitor and combat online extremism.3. Civil Liberties Concerns: Counterterrorism measures can infringe on civil liberties, sparking debates about the balance between security and individual freedoms.4. Changing Tactics: Terrorists adapt their tactics, making it challenging for security forces to predict and prevent attacks.5. Radicalization in Prisons: Prisons can serve as breeding grounds for radicalization, as inmates are exposed to extremist ideologies.ConclusionTerrorism is a complex and persistent global threat that requires comprehensive strategies to address its root causes and consequences. While significant efforts have been made to counter terrorism, it remains a challenge due to its evolving nature and transnational reach. Combating terrorism necessitates a delicate balance between security measures and safeguarding civil liberties, along with addressing the underlying socio-political factors that contribute to its emergence. Only through a multi-pronged and collaborative approach can the world hope to mitigate the impact of terrorism and strive for a more secure and peaceful future.
