Reason First: The Sarai Ribicoff Murder
Does it really matter if the killer was black?

Two brutes involved themselves in a crime that took the life of a promising reporter named Sarai Ribicoff. Does it matter that they were black? The descriptive nature is the only thing that matters in pointing out the two savages’ race. Otherwise, race doesn’t even exist, only racism.
Frederick Thomas and LaQuinn McAdoo perpetrated the evil deed as members of the Crips gang.
The setting remained Venice, California.
Thomas attempted to abscond with Ribicoff’s gold necklace as she had no purse and cash to offer the man. He then placed the muzzle of the firearm to her head but the weapon misfired. Thomas then took the opportunity to shoot Ribicoff in the torso, killing her.
Ribicoff had been on a date with an economics professor named John Shoven. The professor offered his wallet which contained $200. Thomas tried to aim at Shoven but couldn’t find a target.
This bumbling beast managed to shoot himself in the wrist in the confusion.
Both gangbangers fled on foot after some chefs with knives in hands chased them off of the block. Imagine that: they brought a gun and got ran off by knives. This further showed the incompetence of the two horrific males.
MacAdoo grew weary of Thomas’ inability to pull off a successful robbery. He said, “The n— must think I’m crazy. He shot the person and wants to take the gun and shoot the damn thing in the air.”
This ugly case with ugly souls in Thomas and McAdoo demonstrated that the collectivism behind gangs only leads to destruction. People like Ribicoff are of course ruined in all of this but the lives of Thomas and McAdoo become worthless or nearly that.
In all, the jury said that Thomas had committed the crime and Court Judge Laurence Rittenbrand sentenced him to life behind bars and McAdoo received 25 years in prison for his role as an aid to the crime.
Gangster life is an anarchistic, brutal, and punishing way to live. It limits the mind to think as an individual as the “leaders” suppress any dissension among the ranks. No one is safe in a gang. Ribicoff and Shoven became victims of the gangbanging mentality because of the disgusting rules and codes that these gangs abide by in life.
The stifling climate of gangs, no matter the nationality or chemical makeup, is such that the members meld into one mind and cannot go against the group.
Thomas and McAdoo violated Ribicoff and Shoven because of their lack of morals and desire to be “part of the gang.”
Now, of course there are affiliates of the Crips and other gangs. They don’t engage in actions like these two miscreants. But they’re just as liable through association. Because the nature of anything goes in the “sets,” innocent men, women, and children have met their fate because of the irrationality of people who wear different colors and represent opposing street corners.
This carries on into jail. The most collectivistic portion of the population might be those locked behind the wall. Neonazis stick together. Muslims stick together. Crips, Bloods, and Gangster Disciples among a whole host of other groups band together. This is not based on reason and individualism but fear and prejudice.
Ribicoff’s life could have been spared if Thomas had only a shred of rationality in his head. She was just one of many victims who fell because of gang violence. The force involved in the mêlée is something that law professors will cover with their students for decades to come.
What is most sad is that Ribicoff didn’t even have a fighting chance. Shoven did the right thing. He handed over his cash to try to allow the two brutes to go away without hurting anyone. Sadly, this was not the case. Ribicoff perished because of the irrational, collectivistic ideas that formed in Thomas’ mind.
Ideation led to murder by holding onto the disturbing thoughts of living in a gang and going about like a beast in the streets. Ideas drive even the lowest monsters to confront reality. Those ideas are twisted and toxic but ideas nonetheless.
In memory of Sarai Rubicoff, may reason and individualism be the only ideation in the minds of men and women.
