Mom & Her Boyfriend Disguse Doll as Daughter After They Sexually Abuse, Kill The 2-Year-Old

In October 2018, Tiaundra Christon claimed she lost her daughter in a park while visiting her boyfriend in Galveston, Texas. The truth was far more horrific.

On Oct. 17, 2018, Tiaundra Christon traveled with her 2-year-old daughter, Hazana Anderson, from College Station to Houston to visit her boyfriend, Kenny Hewett. The trio stayed at the Houston Downtowner Inn until Oct. 19, 2018.

Tiaundra returned to College Station. Friends saw her several times with a child they believed to be Hazana. Surveillance footage from Walmart captured her pushing a stroller with what appeared to be a child inside.

On October 28, 2018, Tiaundra called 9-1-1 telling the operator that someone had taken her daughter from Gabbard Park.

According to Tiaundra, she left Hazana sitting in her stroller while she returned to her car to retrieve an item. When she returned, Tiaundra was gone, but the stroller sat in the same spot.

More than 160 people gathered to help search for the missing girl. Despite the massive efforts, no traces of Hazana were found. Witnesses at the park near a pond by the area where Hazana disappeared claimed they never saw a child in the area.

Police immediately began noticing inconsistencies in Christon's story. She told them she'd left Hazana alone for about a minute but "the child was not found in a reasonable search area to represent a young child's possible travel in that short period of time," according to the affidavit.

In a trash can nearby where Tiaundra parked, police found a lifesized baby doll wearing the same clothing Tiaundra told the 9-1-1 operator Hazana had been wearing. She was arrested on a charge of tampering with a human corpse. When asked about the clothing, she admitted the clothes were Hazanas but denied knowing how they got on the doll or knowing anything about the doll.

She later confessed that she and her boyfriend had killed the baby in the hotel room during her visit to Houston after physically and sexually abusing her. She told police horrifying details of the crime, admitting that she and Hewett beat the child with a belt because she would not stop crying, leaving welts and bruises across her body.

Hazana fell in and out of consciousness, so Tiaundra put her in a bath of cold water attempting to revive her. She said then she noticed that her anus was red and larger than it should have been.

She pulled Hazana out of the water and said her body was very cold to the touch, so she attempted to warm her with a hair dryer.

After Hazana died, Christon and Hewett placed her body in a trash bag and carried it around in her car for three days before taking her to Texas City, tying a heavy rock to the bag, and dumping her body in Moses Lake. She led law enforcement to the toddler’s remains. On Halloween 2018, police divers recovered Hazana’s body from the bayou.

Her cause of death was listed as undetermined.

Tiaundra carried the lifesize baby doll in a stroller so no one suspected that Hazana was missing. Five days later, she reported Hazana missing.

Hewett was arrested on charges of tampering with a human corpse. According to prosecutors, the couple were not eligible for a manslaughter or murder charge because the medical examiner could not determine Hazana’s cause of death.

Christon pleaded not guilty to the charge of tampering with a human corpse while Hewett pleaded guilty to the same charge. Hewett was sentenced to the maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Christon was found guilty by a jury after 40 minutes of deliberation. She was also sentenced to 20 years in prison and must serve 15% of her sentence before she is eligible for parole.
