Kevin's Homecoming
Present Joseph Stevens watched Kevin sitting on the bench in the middle of the park. The young man fed some birds hopping around his feet. The scene irked him tremendously. A woman who pushed her toddler around in a three-wheeled stroller waved to him in a friendly greeting. The sheriff was not in a pleasant mood. He was tired of seeing Kevin wandering about in the town as if nothing were wrong with it. He turned his car to the curb and stepped out with a measure of agitation.

There was once an out of control psychiatric doctor and consultant working for the NHS. A man who I can only describe as truly evil but most of you will never have heard his name. Martin Shkreli and the Failure of Capitalist “Justice”
The news is abuzz with tales of justice. Martin Shkreli, the vulture capitalist that everyone loves to hate, has finally been convicted and sent to jail. But this conviction has taken place years after the crimes that Shkreli committed. More than simply a result of the slow process of the court system, Shkreli was at first somewhat insulated from the consequences of his massive price hike for the anti-retroviral drug Daraprim, from about $12 per pill, to about $750 per pill. Obviously, this makes Daraprim literally unaffordable for most AIDS-infected people, but this was not the crime that Shkreli was convicted of, and that is precisely the problem.

Kevin's Homecoming
Past Brother Jamie walked among the children playing on the front lawn surrounding the south and east corner of First Baptist Church of Pine Springs. It was obvious that the pastor liked children. He smiled and patted some of them on the head. He approached Kevin, then only eight years old, who had a model of a church that he had assembled from pop sickle sticks. The little boy was showing his creation to some other children.

Kevin's Homecoming
Present Kevin hesitated just outside of the front doors as he studied the wood frame in detail. A decade had passed since he had last walked through them. He still could not fathom the amount of decay he observed in the flaking paint and graying exposed wood. The state of the trim of the doors was not the real reason he hesitated. Apprehension from a repressed, painful memory kept him motionless. He reached for the handle, expecting the doors to be locked.

Discord
"Susan, is my coffee done yet?" Susan emptied the coffee filter into the compost bin and added David's low-fat cream and sugar. The sounds of the fridge opening and spoon-clinking-against-mug could have answered his question alone, but Susan knew he'd get pissy if she didn't answer him. He was always pissy.
