Alex Pretti: ICE's Newest Shooting Death Victim
Who is he and What Happened?

A 37 year old Veteran Affairs ICU Registered Nurse, A legal and lawful open carry gun owner, and an American Citizen named Alex Pretti was gunned down by Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers at a Minnesota protest.
Minnesota protesters have been protesting daily the Federal Occupation of ICE in their state and in their cities. Minnesota hasn't been the only state where ICE has occupied and killed American Citizens in their pursuit of illegal immigrants.
On January 7, 2026 mother, wife, and American Citizen Renee Good was shot down by an ICE officer while in her vehicle. Since her killing, the protests have erupted and protestors have poured into the streets of major American cities.
On January 24, 2026, Alex Pretti was directing traffic during a protest and had his lawful and legal sidearm on him. He saw ICE agents push a woman down and he went to help her up. He had a confrontation with ICE agents at that time and several agents threw him to the ground and pepper sprayed him in the face. More than six masked agents beat him while he was on the ground and you can see one agent repeatedly hit him in the face. Multiple angles show the agents disarm him and while he is trying to resist his detainment, they shot him dead and left him in the street.
According to FOX 9 KMSP, after the shooting, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension who investigates officer shootings approached the scene of the shooting to investigate and was blocked by ICE and Federal Agents from entry.
Once they were blocked, he tried to communicate and work with the Federal ICE agents and still was denied. Minnesota's BCA stepped back and decided to get a warrant written to gain access to the scene, but even after notifying them of the warrant, he was still blocked.
President Donald Trump called Pretti and Good domestic terrorists. That the shootings are justified and the ICE agents have immunity. There is no evidence of them being domestic terrorists.
Alex Pretti's family spoke to CNN, this was their statement:
"We are heartbroken but also very angry," the family said in a statement shared with CNN. "Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and friends and also the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital. Alex wanted to make a difference in this world. Unfortunately he will not be with us to see his impact. I do not throw around the hero term lightly. However his last thought and act was to protect a woman."
USA Today shared this statement from his family:
"The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump’s murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He has his phone in his right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down all while being pepper sprayed," the family said. "Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man. Thank you."
