5 Things You Didn't Know About Bonnie and Clyde
They were not only just outlaws, but lovers.

They robbed, they murdered, they destroyed lives(including their own)but there's so much more that happened with these two during this time after the Depression that many don't even know about it. So I wanted to take a moment and share with you some things that you may have never known about Bonnie and Clyde.
1. Clyde never sought for fame and fortune. He only wanted to seek revenge.
Clyde Barrow hated the Texas prison system with a passion because during the time he was locked up, he was sexually assaulted repeatedly. He committed his first murder by killing the one who tormented him by crushing his skull with a metal pipe. Another inmate claimed fault for the murder because he was already sentenced to life without parole and wanted to save Clyde from getting into trouble. Clyde left the prison with a hardened heart and very bitter due to what happened to him at Eastham Prison Farm. An inmate had said he noticed how much Clyde had changed when he first went to prison and then after he had gotten out. He was never the same since then.
2. Bonnie wrote poetry.
Who would've known that Bonnie Parker was a poet. While she was in school, she loved to write and create poetry. She actually had a very vivid imagination and loved to put all of her ideas on paper. While she was on the run with Clyde and had spent a small while in jail, she had written several poems that she put in an old bankbook leaving it behind for the jailer or for the next one who found it and read it through. I guess the jailer's wife was kind enough to give her something to write on so why not an old bankbook? Each poem was similar as it talked about the lives of criminals and the women who suffered because of the criminal lifestyle. She also had copied down some songs she had kept in her memory word for word. I guess the bankbook survived all of these years because in 2007, it sold for $36,000.
3. Both Bonnie and Clyde's family supported the both of them whenever they were destitute.
I guess you could say it was an 'I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine' situation. When Bonnie and Clyde had money(from their robberies of course), they would financially help their families on whatever they needed at the moment. If Bonnie and Clyde needed assistance, the families would provide them some clean clothes and smaller amounts of money whenever they could. It was even true that Clyde was in the process of purchasing land for his parents in Louisiana right before his death. But karma always comes back around. Many of Barrow's family were sentenced to jail for a short while since they were aiding two criminals to do crime.
4. They released many of their hostages after being kidnapped and even gave them money to help them get back home.
I'm sure you never heard of a criminal giving money to their hostages to help them out, have you? Neither did I until I researched more about Bonnie and Clyde's history. The majority of the time whenever they kidnapped hostages, they would make sure they were far away from home and then give them money to make sure they were able to get back where they were. Surprisingly, it wasn't only robbery victims they would do this to but police officers as well. You would've thought they would've avoided helping any police officers out since they were criminals. I wonder what they were possibly thinking. I'm just being honest here.
5. The stolen car at the time of Bonnie and Clyde's death was driven back home by the original owner even in its gruesome state.
I'm sorry. If someone had stolen my car and then got brutally murdered in it, I don't seem to think I would want it back let alone drive it back home. Can you believe that the engine was still running even after there were 112 bullets shot at the car of course killing them both? Bonnie was in the middle of lunch at the time of her death because she had a half-eaten sandwich left in one of her hands. I'm wondering if she knew that was going to be her last meal. I do know from what I've read that she figured they would both eventually be captured and killed. She just didn't know when.
