I Have A Crush On You
It was the start of the second term of year nine and a new girl from Sydney had joined our year. She was not in my class but from the moment I laid eyes on her I was in awe of her. Her name was Alex and although you could not describe her as beautiful, she was incredibly striking. Even at fourteen, when she walked into a room she commanded attention. She had poise and such presence that all I could do was look at her every chance I got.

Lock-down medical romance
I've been single for five years. I know I know I'm close to being a nun. I'm Gloria a 30-year-old introvert lesbian and a devoted nurse, and that's all that my life is. It's just my house and the hospital. Boring, I know, living like an old hag with nothing else to do, which is not so true, I'm an explorer and tries anything that crosses my mind or even my eyes. From learning to play the saxophone, piano, guitar and even becoming a freelancer as a logo maker, a graphic designer, a writer, and even trading stocks because I like to learn new things.

A Glass Of Merlot
A glass of merlot I stood outside, on the porch, ready and waiting for him. This was my first ever date and I wanted it to be perfect. I’d had a crush on Ben ever since I knew him and we had both been to the same school. He was a couple of years older than me and had left school to go to college. He wanted to train as an architect. I admired that desire greatly because I could just imagine all the beautiful things he’d create when he described them to me, but I knew there was no way I could plan a building the way he did.

"Liquid Courage"
In July, the land of the Geechie is always plagued with an abundance of traumatic life experience. Dashing through the tourist riddled, cobblestoned, city market pavement, reminded me of this native fact. The sweltering heat progressed my speed towards the overpriced restaurant. My nagging physical need for nourishment provoked me to be just a few minutes later than on time. Hunger was responsible for ensuring that I had not failed to attend this engagement. This marked a serious milestone for me. Fifteen minutes later than scheduled is more appealing than a no call/no show. If I was not guilty of being indecisive, then, I would have been a little more punctual. My lacking of respect for time, has been an inconvenience for some of my loved ones. Personally for me, it has never been a real problem. While sounding a little selfish, I am compelled to voice the God honest truth. I am never on time for anything.

Long Time Crush, Music, Sushi and Merlot
On a lovely sunny day in Asheville, North Carolina, as I was playing music for people walking up and down the sidewalks of our beautiful downtown, a long-time acquaintance came by and tipped me, but this time he stood by and listened a bit longer than usual. Nick was wearing a fashion mask even though normally he had those typical blue ones on at times in the past when he had come by to listen, but this one mask tonight had art image of a guitar and music notes on it, and I could sense he wanted to ask me something. After I finished my song which happened to be titled, “Something in your eyes” I decided to take a small pause and so he asked if by any chance I wanted to grab some sushi with him after I am done busking. As he glanced into my eyes, he said.

My Dating Experience With A Traveling Nurse
This is my embarrassing tinder date stories. Everything that I say in this story is real, therefore, to protect the person’s identity, I will only refer to her as the “traveling nurse.” Tinder can be tough to find dates, whether it’s flooded with fake scamming accounts, or matching with someone just for them to ghost me a few days later. Dating in this day and age can be draining. So, when I do match with a woman I like and we both want to meet; it can be magical. I am not the type that just blindly swipes, I actually open their profiles and read what they have to say. One day, I came across the traveling nurse. She said she would be in town for the next few months and looking for adventures. These are the stories of those “adventures.”

Wish I was Merlot
The clock hit 6:30pm, I was in the bathroom putting on my makeup. Knowing I have a date at 7:00, with only 30 minutes left, I rushed. Sam, a tall guy with brown hair and brown eyes. He likes to read and prefers indoor activities. I was introduced to Sam by a friend and of course with every cute guy, something is always up. According to my friend, Sam once had three girlfriends in one year. The longest relationship he has been in was three months. The clock was ticking, and with 15 minutes to spare I was out the door. He chose a place close by, so I decided I’d just walk. As I walked outside, it felt refreshing. With the pandemic going on and everyone being stuck inside, it felt nice to be outside. I walked past a garden of flowers, some coffee shops, and a bookstore. I guess I was more excited about this than I thought. I was never really the dating kind of girl, unless, you count holding hands at recess in 2nd grade a date. This was going to be my first official date.

Called on by a Gravedigger
Walking through the graveyard, I saw him walking afar off, with a rake in his hand. He was the most beautiful man I had seen in a while. Bald and bronzed, His magnanimous muscles and chiseled face glistened with sweat. I almost forgot why I was there, looking at that tall cool drink of awesomeness. I gathered myself quickly and approached my Grandmother's grave. She's the reason I'm in France in the first place. Nana Kay died 3 weeks ago, peacefully in her sleep, at 97 years old.

“Swissy”
The first day of the rest of her life ended with a list and started with a glass of merlot. Olive had only been separated for a few short months. She had gone out on dates with a couple of men. She saw dating as a distraction from her life. The life was completely turned upside down and she saw no future with any of the men on “The List.” She joked with her friends and they even had made up nicknames for them. Dustin “The face", Jonsey " The coach”, and Micheal "the Viking”.
