Lock-down medical romance

I've been single for five years. I know I know I'm close to being a nun. I'm Gloria a 30-year-old introvert lesbian and a devoted nurse, and that's all that my life is. It's just my house and the hospital. Boring, I know, living like an old hag with nothing else to do, which is not so true, I'm an explorer and tries anything that crosses my mind or even my eyes. From learning to play the saxophone, piano, guitar and even becoming a freelancer as a logo maker, a graphic designer, a writer, and even trading stocks because I like to learn new things.

One day at the emergency department, there is no patient, so benign, and we have nothing to do, a gay friend of mine Carl asked me for any new romance, and I said, there's nothing exciting news about me. And our resident doctor Kate asked if I was single, and I said yes,

I'm surprised that she said yes because most of the time, the answer to my "just kidding" question is no and a smile.

Then that time, I thought that she's the one kidding me, but her face was serious, and she started to talk about her friend whose also a doctor and been single for a year.

She also showed me her Facebook photos because I'm not believing her at all until then.

One month after, Kate again asked me if I'm still single and available and I said

She then informed me that she already told her friend Jasmine about me, and she's just shy to send me a message.

Another month after, yeah, I know this is not just a long-distance romance but also a much-awaited romance to make. Going back, another month has passed, someone waved at me in my messenger, and you guessed it right, she's that Jasmine

From then on, we started to chat, we got to know each other and we share a lot of similar traits, likes, and dislikes. Moreover, we talked about our goals, future plans because c'mon, we're already adults and we'll be out of the calendar soon.

That chat turned to a video call upon waking up and before going to bed when we're not both on the duty of course. But due to the pandemic, for five months we're stuck with just video calls. It's hard that we're both front liners and miles away that we can't see each other.

One week after, Kate had enough from our just video call relationship with her friend and planned the very first date for us. Of course, Jasmin knows 'cause their best of friends and the unaware me.

Kate: Hi Gloria, how are you?

Ok, ok, let's cut the crap, as usual, we are understaffed in the er that's why she called me to fill in. But the good part is she volunteered to pick me up so we can both go to the hospital at the same time.

After she picked me up, she said that she left something important in her house and that we need to go back.

She asked me to come with her because apparently it was blocked out and that she's scared. I followed her suspiciously because this is unusual for me.

Entering her garden, there's a silhouette of a woman holding a bootle of Margot and the lights went on, my heart jumped, there few meters away from me, my beautiful Jasmine with all her glory stepping on a picnic blanket with a basket of foods maybe. At her back a wide white blanket projecting our photos taken from our video calls which are so heartwarming.

I've never experienced these kinds of dates before so this is the first time for me. It's overwhelming just seeing Jasmine personally in a long time.

We spent the whole night talking with glass of merlot in our hands and we transfered to my place which is another story to tell. I was just mesmerized by her beauty and elegance. It's the moment when you're hoping that morning will never come. .

Who would've thought that I get to experience my best first date amides pandemic.
