Painful Memories
The story of my biggest scar and the time I lost my finger nail!

We all have embarrassing moments and fun/hysterical moments to share. What's mine, well let me tell you!
It all started on a nice day. I was a cute 5 year old little girl. I had beautiful curls, a pink shirt as I remember and some shorts. Of course it was a fine day because I lived in sunny Florida. My mom handed me a granola bar and I took the leash for my dog that we hung on the wall off and clicked it on to my dog's collar. My dog was a cute white fluffy mix. I'm not sure what breed it was because I never asked my parents when I was little. But my cute but very disobedient dog's name was Snowflake, and I loved her so very much.
Well anyways, I opened the door and skipped outside. I thought to myself, "I'm so responsible, I get to walk around the block all by myself. My mom would be so proud of me". But thats where things got.....well.....interesting.
Out of all the things my dog liked to do, was well, bark, bark at EVERYTHING!! And chase. My dog may have been tiny but that little puppy was strong. So instead of me getting a peaceful walk, two labs, one white lab and one black lab, they were huge compared to me, and came running out of our neighbors yard. I screamed and tried to run. But the thing was, I could leave Snowflake. And well, she yanked me and I tipped over, fell first face on the sidewalk and got pulled. She pulled me all over the grass, neighbors driveways, the road chasing the labs until I couldn't hold on any longer. I screamed and screamed and finally I released.
I laid there on the sidewalk in pain. Then they came back! The white lab jumped over me and the black lab trampled me. Two of the neighbors heard my screams, one of them grabbed the labs and my dog, and the other one picked me up and brought me to my mom.
I had a giant scrape in my knee and bruises and scrapes all over my body. My blood was bleeding everywhere and luckily I got home safely, or I thought I was safe.
My mom thanked the neighbors and took me to the bathroom instantly. Then she took out bandaids and the worst of all peroxide. "mommy please no, no......AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH(that would accurately go on for 3 more pages but that would be the limit of words),"I screamed as my mom rubbed it all over my body. It stung, and stung and wouldn't stop stinging. I'm sure my entire neighborhood heard it. The worst part of all is my dog was just sitting there acting all innocent like nothing even happened. But I forgave her at once because she was too cute to say no to. Which is probably why she never behaved. I never said bad dog to her once.
Meanwhile no one really knew what happened. But I did, and I still have the scar to share what happened. Now you may be wondering, how is that embarrassing that just sounds awful, unless you are one of those people who laugh at pain. The truth is, it embarrassed me when I went out in public with a giant scrape on my knee, and after that accident had happened I could hear my parents laughing about it. Its not that it hurt my feelings or anything but I got red in the face.
Sooner or later I had to go out with my family. My mom put some stockings on me and when I came home to get into my pjs, i slowly took them off and when I did.....(WARNING this part will either make you cringe or throw up)my stockings had the scab stuck to it I screamed.
Now I have one more dreadful story about how my finger nail fell off. It all started one, wonderful day in my preschool class. We had just come back from lunch and we walked in a single file line. My classmate walked into the bathroom and I didn't notice so I put my hand into the closing door not really noticing so I could fling it open when I slipped and my finger got pinched in it. If you haven't realized, I'm talking about those giant metal heavy doors that are fireproof. I pulled my finger out and it was black, not purple or blue literally BLACK. I SCREAMED SO LOUD. When I left the room to go to the nurse I could hear a few of the kids laughing. I didn't need to cry about it cause I was already crying about my finger.
A few weeks later my finger nail fell off. I don't remember what it felt like but my parents told me to put it under my pillow. They told me that the nail fairy would come....and being the vulnerable and very clean believed it. The next day I got no money, after a while I kinda forgot. As years went on I remembered that day and realized how "non-smart" I was.
Anyways, that's my story. Even though I can think of a hundred more embarrassing things, there is a limit. And I think I've shared enough for today. I hope you have enjoyed these disturbing but hilarious tales of my childhood
