Look At Me I'm Wonderful
Thoughts On Life And Things On Vocal

Introduction
These are just some confessional thoughts about why we are one Vocal (or Medium or any other platform, and I also have my blog Seven Days In)
This is essentially why I am here but others may find what I say either resonates with them or gives them ideas.
Look At Me I'm Wonderful, Really?
In the Bonzo Dog Band song that I've included "Legs" Larry Smith (and I've seen him perform this live) sings:
Look at me I'm wonderful
Shooby-dooby-wah
I'm not a bit like you or you
I'm a super-show-biz-star
You all buy my records so I'd like to say
Some little ole cliche
And that is how we have to feel when we are creating our work to publish on Vocal. We can view it as big-headed or whatever. A former girlfriend once told me "Self Praise Is No Recommendation" and that is somewhat true when you are selling yourself, but as soon as you submit a piece for publication you are saying that you deserve to be read.
Many of us suffer from Imposter Syndrome and that can make us pull back, but I am lucky enough to have got past that with the support of my friends and audience.
If ever I pull a story back, it's because I do not believe it is worthy of publication.
Every story I do publish, I believe that people will want to read, but I know many people do not want to read my stories because they are not interested, or they don't see my work, but I miss so many other creators' stories and know I have no right to expect people to read my work. These are my ten most unread stories:

However, you can see four of my top ten most-read stories have less than ten hearts:

So when I publish I know that many non-Vocal readers will be enjoying my work, and that gives me the confidence to continue writing and publishing.
I need to think I am wonderful and brilliant because Vocal themselves and several Creators have made it clear that I am nothing special, while my friends and audience know the truth and always tell me how good my work is.
We need to believe in ourselves and think we are special and worthwhile, if we don't then we will eventually stop trying to be creative, and sadly I have seen many who have eventually given up being creators. I miss many of them but they have to do what is best for them.
So even though I do not know who most of my readers are, even those who are Vocal Creators, I know that they are there and that they will continue to read my work as long as it is interesting to them and of decent quality.
The article you are reading (if you have got this far) is an example of my own confidence in my own creativity. I will continue to believe in myself and I am thankful that others have confidence in me as well.
Thoughts In Conclusion
Always believe you can create, if you have doubts talk to someone about it. My door is always open and I will always try and help if I can. Sometimes I need help as well.
I have been given help, advice and pushes many times, and that has helped me get to where I am today (Vocal-Wise).
What I do is nothing out of the ordinary, or rather, it isn't to me but others perceive me differently.
Thank you so much for reading this.
I hope you have managed to take something from this.
Now get your notes and ideas, kick imposter syndrome into touch, and share your stories and you can say:
Look at me I'm wonderful
Shooby-dooby-wah
I'm not a bit like you or you
I'm a super-show-biz-star
You all read my stories so I'd like to say
Some little ole cliche

Yeah, that's it one must believe in themselves no matter what they do.
"Vocal themselves and several Creators have made it clear that I am nothing special" Vocal said that? When, why, and how?
Thanks for this! I have many stories with only a few reads but I still plug along, because I love it. I read other people's stories each time I log in (as many as I can) as engagement is important. π
very powerful reminder so trueΨ you should believe yourself first then others will do keep up the great work
what you said gives me hope. there are many times on Vocal that I feel I'm just totally ignored; no matter how many times I read the words of others, the act isn't reciprocated. can be a real downer but I keep plugging away. thank you for the confidence booster. I needed it.
As always your songs are spot on!
That was very beautiful, never give up on yourself, its you that's has to believe, thoughts and visions are very powerful, we create our lives through thought, imagination and our visions of what we see ourselves doing in the future, always stay in the present moment as hard as it may be to do, because we all tend to think of the past and its called the past for a reason. Its done an over, but thinking of your future and what is to come is all in the hands of each person on this earth. We create our own reality. So always envision what you want or want to happen and it will happen, it all begins with a thought. Your writing is very nice and awesome.π
Sometimes it is difficult to balance that feeling of worthiness with the knowledge that we still need to learn and always will be. Thank you for all your endeavors!
