The Life of Levi Rupp: Part 5
Levi was finishing his shift and wanted to walk home, a chance to air out the struggles of his recent events from Silas, from the coach, and his emotional ties to Mila. “Levi, a word before you go.” It was Levi’s boss, either his schedule changed or he’s being fired due to recent budget cuts. Levi gave him a nod acknowledging him as he gathered his bag of clothes. It was a mobile office, so the space was confined, and his boss was sitting down, exhausted from the long night. “Sir.” “Ah, Levi. This won’t be long, I know you have school tomorrow so I’ll get to it.” Levi was silent, standing respectfully with his arms crossed in front of him. “Levi, I want you to take a vacation.” “A vacation?” “Yes, you always come into work, you work hard, and you never call out. You’re young and you have a lot on your plate. Take all of next week off.” “Thank you, but…” Levi’s manager raised his hand, cutting him off, “Levi, you’ll still get paid your hourly wage, but I want you to rest. Part of working is discovering balance. Now, go home and I’ll see you in a couple weeks.” Levi, smiling from the good news, thanked his boss and began his long walk home.

The Hidden Staircase
It was the summer I turned fourteen when I discovered the hidden staircase in my grandmother’s house. I’d been staying with her for a few weeks while my parents traveled abroad. Her home was an old, creaky Victorian tucked into a quiet street at the edge of town — the kind of place where the floorboards groaned under your feet and every cabinet had its own story. I always had the feeling that the house was watching me.

The Last Message She Never Read. AI-Generated.
Chapter 1: "The Forgotten Letter" The attic smelled of dust and memories. Lena hadn’t planned on cleaning today, but the storm had left the power out, and boredom drove her up the creaky wooden stairs. The dim glow of her phone flashlight illuminated boxes of her grandmother’s things—old photo albums, moth-eaten sweaters, and a small mahogany chest tucked beneath a pile of yellowed newspapers.

My dad spoke the words that my mom was already thinking at that same moment because that location puts us on the mainland and not in an empty area of the mainland either. When I opened my eyes, I saw the look on both of my parents' faces as I realized why my dad said it was going to be a problem as he laid the map out on the table and marked where we were currently. We were several days away from the location and would be traveling in highly monitored waters to get there.

Guardians and Angels | Chapter Three "Storytellers"
If I could rearrange time, I would take the moment his father caught us dancing in the California sunset, and I'd place it so far into our future, the universe would grow too cold for us to find it, all the burning stars would be long gone.
