Sam went from house to house, state to state, but her father, Steve, never liked any of them. None were as good as their old house, with Sams mom, Scarlet. Scarlet died when Sam was 15, last year. Anyway, Sam thought that this next house would be just like the last ones, not good enough. But that is very, very wrong. Sam's new house is "haunted" her dad says. but neither of them believe that. Now, Sam is exploring the mansion, getting used to the house that she would only live in for a month, maybe longer if her dad liked it. but that's not possible. Every house either reminds him too much of his wife, not enough of his wife, or there were ants. The house has many rooms, but the basement is the most scary place of all. So Sam decides not to go down there yet, and starts unpacking her stuff in her new room. She sets a picture of her, her mom, and her dad on the desk next to her bed, along with her lamp. She looks around the room, sighing. "Only one month.." She reminds herself. "only one month of this place. then onto the next house..." She flops herself onto her new bed, dust flying into the air. ew. just, ew....
