Sizable Figures

Portfolios all aligned. Entrepreneur Paul saw his earnings increase once he landed another deal. He smiled. The warmth of his smirk gave him life. He sat in the back of his Goulding and typed up various documents pertaining to his vast collections of corporations and LLCs and 501 (c) (3) organizations. With flair, he collected all of the data on the tablet he cradled like a newborn.

If he had done anything, he literally bought time. He did the work of researching, planning, and investing money into the companies which yielded him sizable figures.

He did run into a snag, though. He had placed tens of millions of dollars into an exchange and the thing folded like a beach chair. The owner, Todd Hodges called him.

“Paul! How’s it been?”

“How’s it been? Well, after your company collapsed in spectacular fashion, I had to rely on my other businesses to keep my boat not afloat, but going full steam. Why are you calling me?”

“I know in the past things got dicey, but I’m back on my feet. I’m ready for you to invest in this new project.”

“And what might that be?”

“I’m adding a flap to an already existing product. The engineers must not have thought of this in the production phase.”

“So you want me to help you with the patents?”

“Precisely. It’s just this one this time. It shouldn’t be too much trouble.”

“Todd, anything with you is trouble. Goodbye.”

He didn’t give his usual, “Lose my number line” but thought about it the next time Hodges ever called him.

The vehicle maneuvered through the Wilmington city streets. In his mind, Entrepreneur Paul had to deal with the scammers, reverse hustlers, and schemers who tried to get at his wallet. He wouldn’t let them do that.
