“Am I not good enough?” — You are already on the road
Self-doubt is not the end, it is evidence that you are starting to take yourself seriously

"Am I not good enough?"
"Am I the only one who is always so unconfident?"
"Why do I doubt myself more and more the harder I work?"
If you are often trapped by these thoughts, then I want to tell you that you are not alone. Moreover, it is very likely that you are at a critical growth node.
We always think that "confidence" is a sign of maturity, and doubt is a manifestation of weakness. But the fact may be just the opposite: the more people are on the road of growth, the more likely they are to doubt themselves.
Self-doubt is actually the process of you starting to "see yourself".
It shows that you no longer blindly believe in the old comfort zone, and no longer use "I am just like this" to cover up all the shortcomings. You begin to have requirements and expectations for yourself, and you also begin to realize that some places can be better.
In other words: you start to care.
A person who has never really put in the effort will not doubt himself. They will feel that "this is enough" and "others are just like this".
And the reason you feel anxious is because you have goals, ideals, and unsatisfied sense of value.
This is not weakness, this is your growth.
I have a friend who just resigned from a stable clerical job and switched to studying psychological counseling. In the first few months, she was in a state of doubt every day:
"Am I too impulsive?"
"What if I can't learn it?"
"There are so many people who are better than me, am I destined to fail?"
She told me that every doubt was like a shadow, pressing her breathless. But it was these doubts that prompted her to look up information, practice, take the initiative to ask for advice, and stick to every assignment. Half a year later, she started her first internship, and gradually heard her own voice in real counseling.
She said: "I still doubt myself. But now I know that behind every doubt, there is an opportunity for growth."
Don't be afraid of self-doubt.
It is not a sign of failure, but an inner awakening.
It reminds you: "You have stepped out of your comfort zone."
You begin to explore inward and question old answers, and slowly make room for new possibilities.
The real failure is not the doubt itself, but giving up on yourself in doubt.
So next time, when you think "Am I not good enough?", try to answer:
"I'm not sure, but I'm getting better."
📌 May you learn to live peacefully with your uncertainty. May you still be willing to keep a light on for your dreams in the night of self-doubt.
