The Whole Account of Prophet Nuh AS Up to the Point of His Death

There are twenty-five recognized Prophets and Apostles in the Islamic faith. Prophet Nuh AS, the third prophet after Prophet Adam AS and Prophet Idris AS, is one of them. The entire account of Prophet Nuh AS up until his passing is given below.

Prophet Nuh AS was the ninth descendant of Prophet Adam AS, according to Ibn Kathir's work on the prophetic tales. Therefore, there were ten centuries between the time of Prophet Adam AS and Prophet Nuh AS, according to reliable historical accounts from Islamic historians.

There are numerous tales that can be told concerning the Prophet Noah. The tale of Noah's Ark, the earliest and biggest ship ever built by humanity, is one of them. Noah's Ark serves as evidence of the miracle that Allah SWT bestowed upon the prophet and his companions after a catastrophic calamity wiped out everything on Earth but for the devout followers of the prophet.

Noah's people were viewed at the time as a particularly vile people who disobeyed Allah SWT's commands. Humanity had traditionally followed the advice of earlier prophets like Adam and Idris. But when Prophet Nuh showed up, his people adopted the same actions as those of earlier generations who had worshipped idols as their gods, going back to their disobedience.

The people who followed Prophet Noah were misled because they misinterpreted the statues as depictions of God when, in reality, they were merely symbols of devout individuals carrying on Prophet Idris's mission to propagate the teachings of Allah SWT. The statue was originally meant only as a memorial to two religious men, Wadd and Shuwa. But as time went on and people's understanding of religion declined, the descendants of Noah's people gradually started to think that the statue was sacred. Prophet Noah AS played the crucial role of being the last human being left with sanity and common sense to put an end to all of this.

Then, Noah was chosen by Allah SWT to be a prophet, and He was given the mission to teach his people away from idolatry in all its forms and away from the devil's influence, which was encouraging them to keep worshiping or acknowledging these statues as their gods. It was Noah's responsibility to guide them back to the straight road and win Allah SWT's compassion.

The reason Prophet Nuh AS is unique is that Surah Nuh, one of the 114 surahs in the Al-Qur'an, is dedicated to Prophet Nuh. After Surah Al-Ma'arij and before Surah Al-Jin, Surah Nuh is ranked 71st. This surah has 28 verses and is a member of the Al-Makkiyah surah group. While Noah's story starts with his sending, the prophet's story starts with his messenger.

Prophet Nuh AS was sent as an apostle

The Prophet Noah's Story: Complete to the End of His Life Scholars who rely on reliable historical sources assert that the true name of Prophet Noah AS was Abdul Ghaffar, or Yasykur. He was Lamik bin Matta's son. Being the third descendent of Prophet Idris, his father, Prophet Noah, was the grandson of Prophet Idris AS. Stated differently, Prophet Noah was either the third descendant or the grandson of Prophet Idris AS. It is explained in Surah Al-Ankabut verse 14 of the Qur'an that Prophet Noah lived a very long time—950 years.

Prophet Nuh AS was given the command to become an apostle by the angel Gabriel when he was 480 years old. Prophet Nuh AS was astounded when the angel Gabriel showed up in stunning beauty and he inquired. Then, in response, the angel Gabriel, speaking on behalf of Allah and bearing the divine message, said that Noah was sent by Allah SWT as a prophet to admonish and chastise those who had acted harshly and disobediently.

Then, Prophet Nuh AS was given a very big shirt—known as the Mujahideen shirt—by the Angel Gabriel. Prophet Nuh AS then received a belt known as "Saiful Azmi" and wore a victory turban. Prophet Nuh AS dutifully carried out the Angel Gabriel's instructions.

Based on the results of the name search, Darmasyil is the fourth descendent of the Prophet Adam AS, who was also regarded as a terrible leader and ruler in his day. The first person to make and drink alcoholic beverages was Darmasyil. He was also the first to engage in gambling and to create garments decked with gold that was inappropriate for males to wear.

Additionally, Wad, Siwa', Ya'uq, Yaghuts, and Nasr were the five idols adored and exalted by King Darmasyil. In order to warn King Darmasyil, who was renowned for his cruelty and disobedience, Allah SWT sent Prophet Nuh AS. Because of his heinous deeds, Allah SWT sent Prophet Nuh AS a severe warning, which was delivered by the angel Gabriel. The narrative of Prophet Nuh AS then goes on to detail the different difficulties he encountered.

Kisah Dakwah Nabi Nuh AS

In the five centuries that have elapsed since his prophetic mission, Prophet Nuh AS has not stopped sharing his message with his people, particularly with his family, who had been involved in injustices and mistakes. Still, he managed to assemble only seventy to eighty followers, most of whom were common folk, not members of wealthy, respectable, well-to-do families or illustrious lineage.

The haughty followers of Noah made the Noah tribe, which was composed of honorable and prosperous people, uncomfortable to be associated with or close to. This was because of their conceit and conceit. They believe that their status and qualifications are superior to the Prophet Noah's, making it difficult for them to follow him. They even believe that they are higher than Noah.

Prophet Noah and his impoverished disciples were ridiculed and abused by the people around him. Not only did his family members continue to reject and ridicule him, but so did his own people. The teachings of Prophet Noah were strongly rejected and challenged even by his wife and son, Kan'an. What's even more concerning is that they encouraged others to reject the Prophet Noah's teachings. The populace did not accept Prophet Noah's claim to be an agent of Allah SWT. They thought that the prophet Noah was just a regular person like them, with no special abilities or benefits. They even asserted that Prophet Noah had been untruthful. They attempted to banish Prophet Noah and severely denigrated him.

Then, the oppressive leader of Noah's people sincerely and completely declared his desire to follow Prophet Noah AS and vowed to adhere to his teachings—as long as Prophet Noah AS agreed to drive out his followers who had been obedient but were viewed as inferior due to their poverty. Prophet Noah AS, however, was adamantly against this need since he did not want to abandon his people.

The tyrannical leaders of Prophet Nuh's people were enraged by his response and resolved to confront him. In order to demonstrate that Prophet Nuh was the genuine messenger of Allah and that they had been tyrannical and disobedient to Allah SWT, they begged Prophet Nuh AS to punish them right away.

Even though he had given it his all, Prophet Nuh AS then felt lost when it came to confronting and rousing his followers. He made the decision to give up and seek direction from Allah SWT, the universe's Lord. Prophet Nuh AS begged for Allah to punish this disobedient people right away. Prophet Nuh AS's supplication was also heard by Allah SWT, who responded to it.

The Story of the Construction and Miracles of the Prophet Noah's Ark AS

By giving direction and performing miracles, Allah SWT demonstrates His compassion for His people in the account of the Prophet Nuh AS. Prior to inflicting a harsh and agonizing retribution on Noah's people, which took the form of a global flash flood, Allah SWT gave Prophet Noah AS the command to construct an ark of extraordinary size and strength. Obedient followers who have faith in Allah SWT can be housed in the ark. This segment of Prophet Nuh AS's tale demonstrates the extent of Allah SWT's concern for His people.

The pious people and Prophet Nuh AS started building the ark right away after getting directives and guidance. It took a considerable amount of time—roughly 40 years—to construct the teak wood ark before it could be used. Prophet Nuh's patience was put to the limit by the tyrannical people's constant mockery and insults while they were building the ark.

The value of building the ark on a desolate desert hilltop where even floods and rain never fell was underestimated by the evil people of Noah, who thought the endeavor to build the ark was pointless and merely the work of madmen. Prophet Noah (AS) and his adherents, however, did not let his people's jeers and mockery stop them from building the ark.

Noah's ark had a considerable dimension, according to the highly educated Thaif Ibn Abbas. Around 1,200 cubits, or 550 meters, measured the length of the Ark, while 600 cubits, or 275 meters, estimated its width. There were three distinct levels in the Ark. The first level was made especially for animals, the second for Prophet Noah's adherents, and the third for birds.

When Allah SWT punished the disobedient people of Noah, a timber cover was placed over the top of the ark to ensure the safety and security of all occupants and their belongings. The walls of the ark were built as robust as possible to withstand the floodwaters that would annihilate all men who were unjust and did not believe in Allah SWT. Following then, Prophet Noah prayed in the Arabic language and pleaded with Allah SWT that not a single one of the unjust people would remain alive and secure in this world once the retribution was meted out. Prophet Noah AS did not want those who lived to go on and mislead humanity even more or commit acts of injustice or evil.

Once Noah's Ark was finished, Allah SWT gave Prophet Noah AS the command to get ready, gather his people, and gather supplies in preparation to face the impending flood. The water that emerged from the tannur—a traditional oven used in the kitchen of the Prophet Noah's home—was a sign from Allah SWT. The idea that an oven could leak water is illogical when considered logically. The narrative of Prophet Noah AS then goes on to describe the impending chastisement.

The Coming of Doom for the Unjust People of the Prophet Nuh AS

The Prophet Noah's Story: The Whole Account Up to the Point of His Death One day, Prophet Noah AS noticed evidence of water flowing from the furnace in his kitchen. He quickly prepared and opened his ark. He assembled the pious so they might defend themselves and board the ark. Along with these creatures, Prophet Noah AS invited pairs of birds, elephants, oxen, and even ants.

Prophet Nuh needed assistance gathering and guiding each pair of animals, therefore the angel Gabriel descended to Earth at that time. The intention was to ensure that all animal species would survive and be able to procreate for the coming generation of humans, following the retribution that wiped out the entire globe and submerged the land and everything on it. The Qur'an also contains a record of this incident.

It is said that two parrots were the first animals placed inside Noah's ark, while two donkeys were the last to be placed inside, according to a number of different accounts. Another legend holds that the devil attempted to board Noah's ark by hanging on the shoulders of the donkeys, hoping to agitate the obedient people of Prophet Noah AS and prevent them from entering. The Qur'an's Surah Hud, verse 40, describes this episode.

Prophet Nuh AS's son Kan'an and his wife were unbelieving; they even made fun of the prophet's ark. They consequently chose not to board the ark. About 80 Christians were able to board the ark. With His authority, Allah SWT has made arrangements for everything, even preventing wild creatures from preying on cattle. Allah made the wild animals sick so that their untamed tendencies would diminish.

The ark's door was firmly shut once all of the animals and Prophet Nuh's (AS) disciples had entered. Rain rained from the sky and water gushed from the earth through its many holes and sources at the command of Allah SWT, the Owner of the heavens and the earth. Water rushes through all of the earth's cracks at a quick pace, much like an endless spring.

The heavens were locked off as a torrential downpour hit, the likes of which had not been seen since the creation of the earth. The land and everything on it were being devoured by the monstrous waves of the raging ocean. The earth's surface was completely inundated and destroyed in an instant as the water level quickly rose.

Everything sank together with Noah's unfair people as the earth's surface was submerged under water. The earth was completely immersed in water until it reached its highest point, and this event has never been reproduced before. This is the disaster that Allah SWT sent as retribution to the people of Prophet Noah for their transgressions against Him and their deeds of disobedience.

Three sons were born to Prophet Nuh: Ham, Yafith, Sam, and Kan'an, the eldest. Prophet Nuh's eldest son behaved cruelly and disobediently toward his father. At first, he claimed to be a believer and concealed his disdain for his own father. In actuality, he frequently ridiculed and abused Prophet Nuh AS, as did his mother, the Prophet Nuh's wife. It is really pretty depressing to read this portion of the Prophet Nuh narrative.

During the gathering of his entire populace, Prophet Nuh thought about Kan'an, his oldest son. Kan'an's father asked him to board the ark with his followers. Nevertheless, Kan'an declined and persisted in his obstinate disbelief in Allah SWT because of his haughty attitude. Kan'an was thus counted among those who perished and did not obtain mercy from Allah SWT. Prophet Nuh AS persisted in persuading his son to board the ark as a father did, even as the floodwaters started to rise. Kanan, though, saw the catastrophe as merely another typical natural occurrence.

Despite the overwhelming floodwaters, Kan'an refused to get on the ship and opted to rescue himself by swimming to the summit of the still-unsubmerged mountain. His notion that the water would not reach the summit of the mountain proved to be incorrect, as the floodwaters were able to submerge even the highest mountain peaks. As they conversed, a sizable wave split apart Prophet Nuh AS's and Kan'an's ark. Kan'an vanished from Prophet Nuh's view abruptly. Prophet Nuh AS searched in vain for his firstborn son. As a father, he was devastated that his cherished kid perished as a result of Allah SWT's wrath.

Recalling Allah SWT's pledge to save his family, Prophet Nuh AS prayed to Allah in the hopes that his son would be spared when Kan'an sank. Then, Prophet Nuh AS questioned why his son had not avoided the penalty. According to Allah SWT, his son disobeyed and was left out of the family He had vowed to save.

When Prophet Nuh AS realized his error, he promptly begged Allah SWT's pardon. He extended forgiveness to all those who disregarded him and chose to worship idols, an idolatrous practice that Allah SWT abhorred. This included his unjust son and wife. It's really amazing; perhaps Allah SWT will pardon their transgressions. The survival of Noah's Ark adds another chapter to the account of Prophet Noah AS.

When the water from Allah's flood reached the tops of the mountains, covering people, trees, and the entire planet, He kept Noah's ark safe and secure as it sailed over the unending sea for 150 days, until the flood and the believers inside it abated. The ark kept sailing until all of Noah's oppressed people had disappeared.

Allah then commanded the soil to absorb all of the available water and commanded the sky to stop the intense, torrential rain, after all of Noah's unjust people had drowned. Consequently, the floodwaters that had submerged the planet began to ebb, and not a single member of Noah's unjust people managed to survive the worst and most catastrophic calamity to have ever struck God's earth.

Finally, the ark of Prophet Noah AS rested atop Mount Judi as the floodwaters subsided. The disciples of Prophet Noah took a nap there and started a fresh life filled with serenity and devotion to Allah SWT. The location of Mount Judi is a subject of debate; some sources claim it is in Armenia, while others place it in Iraq or Turkey. Following the landing of the ark, the prophet Noah AS, along with his three devout sons and eighty followers, emerged. The creatures that survived also descended. All those who avoided heinous deeds, idolatry, and disobedience to Allah SWT, as well as those who were obedient and trusted in Allah, began a new existence on this mountain.

Till the end of his life, the prophet Noah's story is told in full. According to historical accounts, all of Prophet Noah AS's followers who made it on the ark will perish and leave no progeny at all. Of the sons of Prophet Noah AS, only Yafith, Sam, and Ham are left. This leads to the conclusion that there are three lines of descent that connect all living people to the three sons of Prophet Noah AS.

Since Yafith gave birth to Roman ancestors, this country has quickly transformed into a European one. The Arabs who presently inhabit the Arab and Middle Eastern regions of West Asia trace their ancestry back to Sam and his descendants. The Habasyah people, who are today descended from Africans living on the African continent, can be traced down to the last son, Ham.

This concludes the account of Prophet Nuh AS until his passing; perhaps it will be of use.
