The connection between us felt undeniable, like an invisible thread weaving our lives together. It started with constant communication—texts that carried the ease of old friends, random calls that stretched into moments of laughter, and pauses that felt heavier than words.

Every conversation felt different, unlike anything I’d experienced before. There was a depth, a lightness, a sense of being seen and understood. We grew closer with every exchange, and I found myself drawn to him in ways I hadn’t expected.

But then, reality has a way of appearing when least expected.

One day, amid our growing bond, he mentioned her—Nica. The words came casually but hit like a quiet storm, leaving my heart between admiration and confusion.

I told myself that nothing had changed, that the connection we had could still exist — only differently. But my heart? My heart couldn’t help but wonder.

Was there space for me in this story, or had the door already closed before I could knock?
