A good book, much like a good friend, offers comfort, knowledge, inspiration, and companionship. In fact, books can often become our truest friends when human connections falter or are absent. Imagine a rainy afternoon, when the world feels dull and your phone is silent. In such moments, many might feel lonely. But a book sitting quietly on the shelf can transform that dullness into magic. It doesn’t judge your feelings, doesn’t demand anything from you, yet it welcomes you into a different world the moment you open its pages. Isn’t that what a true friend does—invites you in, without conditions? Books have been referred to as "man's best friend" by numerous philosophers and thinkers for a reason. They don’t betray, they don’t lie, and they’re always available. You may reread the same page a hundred times, and it will never lose patience with you.
