Book Review: Blue Moon, book 2 of The Immortals series by Alyson Noel

I noticed that there're a lot of comparison between The Immortals series and Twilight series, I'd give Miss Noel this: this woman has more of an imagination than Stephanie Meyer, and her use of different myths is a bit better and more respectful.

So what about plot, character development and writing? Sorry, two books into the series, Miss Noel still hadn't managed to impress me.

I read the translated version of the book, and on the cover, there's an ad remarking "Under the moonlight, the power of love is greater than you can imagine."

After finishing the book, I think the ad can very well be changed into this: "A stupid girl can do worse than you can ever imagine!" or "A foolish girl's stupidity is worse than you can ever imagine!"

Sorry, through out the book I can see no power of love, but what damage stupidity can do to people is rather obvious. The 'heroine' Ever keeps making mistakes when there's no excuse for her stupidity, and goodness, it's so annoying.

Although it's nice that ever is willing to give her own life in order to save Damen from a certain death, but why on earth would Ever choose to trust Roman to save Damen in the climax of the book? Especially after what Roman had put both of them through? Why, just why? Ever, where did your brain go?

Beside Ever's stupidity, we are also forced to hear about her 'Should I give my virginity to him or not?' dilemma; and the agony of Ever not able to 'get it on' with Damen thanks to Roman's ploy. Oh goodness, that's what the whole book is essentially about? Whether ever has sex with Damen or not? So whenever can't have sex with him then she can go mooning over it? How short-sighted. Great, it's just great.
