“I Will Always Love You” is a song that was written and originally recorded by American singer and songwriter Dolly Parton in 1973. The song went to the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and was re-recorded in 1982 for the movie “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”. For the 1992 movie “The Bodyguard” American singer and actress Whitney Houston recorded a pop-ballad arrangement. Her version rose to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the single was certified Diamond by the RIAA. It became the best-selling single by a woman in the US. At the Grammy Awards in 1994, Houston won the Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female. She also won a Grammy for Album of the Year for The Bodyguard – Original Soundtrack Album.
