This is a short series of songs written for each day of the week. I began with songs with Monday in the title and progressing through the week we are now up to songs with Friday in the title and will add the links to each one below as I progress.
“Friday I’m In Love” is a song that was recorded in 1992 by the British rock band The Cure. It is featured on their album Wish. The song became a worldwide hit and charted on the UK Singles and Billboard Hot 100 charts. It was the band’s last song to top the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart.
“Last Friday Night” is a song that was recorded by American singer Katy Perry. It is featured on her album Teenage Dream. The song was co-written by Perry and Bonnie McKee. Perry was inspired to write the song after a night of wild partying. A remix of the song featured American rapper Missy Elliot and was released to US radio stations and digital retailers in 2011. The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart and Perry became the first female solo artist to have five number-one singles on the Hot 100 from a single album.
“Friday on My Mind” is a song that was recorded by the Australian rock group The Easy Beats. It was written by band members George Young and Harry Vanda and became a worldwide hit. The song charted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1967. The Australian Performing Rights Association APRA voted it as “Best Australian Song”. The song was also added to the National Film and Sound Archive Sounds of Australia registry. It was featured in the Australian films “One Night Stand” in 1984 and “December Boys” in 2007.
“Finally Friday” is a song that was recorded by popular American country musician, singer, and songwriter George Jones. He was often referred to as “the greatest living country singer” and has been called “The Rolls Royce of Country Music”. “Finally Friday” is a novelty song that is featured on his last album which came out in 1992 Walls Can Fall. At the time of his death in 2013, he had over 160 chart singles to his name.
“Freaky Friday” is a song that was recorded by American rapper Lil Dicky. It features American singer Chris Brown and uncredited vocals from Ed Sheeran, DJ Khaled, and Kendall Jenner. The song was written alongside Ammo and Nicholas Audino. It was released in 2018 and became the rapper's most successful single charting on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
“Friday Night in Dixie” is a song that was recorded by American country music artist Rhett Atkins. It is featured on his 2002 album of the same name.
“Friday” is a song that was recorded by the American country music group Rascal Flatts. The song became a hit with profound lyrics and a captivating melody. The song delves into many different emotions and tells about the journey of love and loss that many experience. It also touches upon the universal theme of nostalgia that reminds that even if relationships end memories remain for a lifetime.
“Friday Night Fever” is a song that was recorded by legendary American country singer and songwriter George Strait. It was written by Strait and his songwriting partner Dean Dillon. The song is known for its captivating lyrics and soulful music. The song when released became one of his most popular songs. Strait wrote the song based on his personal experiences and memories from his youth. It resounds with everyone who has enjoyed getting dressed up and stepping out to do some dancing. As time went on the song became a timeless classic.
