My Discogs Shop Is Shrinking
Rediscovering Favourite Music Another Playlist

Introduction
I have a lot of CDs and a growing collection of vinyl and quite a bit of digital-only music because physical copies are so damned expensive. I have a pile of CDs that I have not played and so am fine to sell them on Discogs. Sometimes I get far more than I paid for them, but most of the time it is around the same as what I paid.
When COVID hit I started working from home and then started listening to CDs as I worked. My Discogs Sale pile is next to my desk and easily accessible, so it was natural that I should pick up the odd CD just to see if I really wanted to sell it.
It turns out there are quite a few that have returned to my collection.
I am not selling because I need the money, it is more that I feel I don't have easy access to the music that matters to me.
These are two pieces about my Discogs pile.
The Playlist Of Reclaimed Music
Starsailor - "In The Crossfire" from "On The Outside"
This is an album that I returned to my collection today. The one I have also has a DVD with a documentary but this starts with a heavy acoustic two chord verse and the album never lets up, and if anything gets much heavier.
Michael Hutchence - "The Passenger" from the soundtrack of "Batman Forever"
I'm not sure that this album was really on my Discogs list, but it is not now. This is a brilliant rebuilding of the Iggy Pop classic and one of many great songs on this excellent soundtrack.
Bob Carpenter - "Miracle Man" from "Silent Passage"
I bought this album for the beautiful etched cover image of "The Ancient Mariner" by Gustav Dord. I don't think I even listened to it and it eventually migrated its way to the sales pile.
Wooden Shjips - "Ruins" from "Back To Land"
One of the reasons I bought this was that the cover reminded me of Led Zeppelin III. Again I liked the look of it and then didn't listen to it. It is quite difficult to get the CD out of the outer sleeve and in the video you can see the outer sleeve with with the inner double sleeve that contains the CD.
The music is fuzz guitar-based and when I put it on the player it came straight back into my collection.
Steve Mason - "Alive" from "Meet The Humans"
I love almost everything by The Beta Band and I think Marek at RPM in Newcastle recommended this. Again when I played this it was an amazingly gorgeous sound and I loved it so much that I wrote a review of the album that you can read here and listen to a few more songs.
Pink Floyd - "Louder Than Words" from "The Endless River"
I have this as a box set with DVD and is mostly instrumental, and for some reason, I thought it was a bit cumbersome and bland. I think this was the last Pink Floyd album, but the more I listened the more I found it beautifully relaxing and far better than the last Dave Gilmour album. This is one of the non-instrumental songs and it does get a lot of plays now.
Patti Smith - "April Fool" from "Banga"
This comes in a long book format and I love Patti Smith, but decided that this good go. When I replayed it this is the second song on the album and is even better, in my opinion, than the opener "Amerigo".
Conclusion
There are many more that have returned to my collection, but I thought I would just share these songs with you for your enjoyment.
Thank you so much for reading (and listening).

That sure is quite a collection. Good work on all you do.
Wow, great collection, must've taken a lot of time...
Do you have some of these now? What an awesome collection. I am a huge Patty Smith lover. She was really the first to deliver post punk with poetry, self exploration and art. What do you think of Laurie Anderson? Great music to ride with today; need a mental health escape plan, lol
Love your eclectic taste in music.
