Allowed to Be

I wrote this while feeling frustration and anger over the current state of society. I have never understood the determination of some to try to force their beliefs and opinions on others, while still claiming they support freedom and equality. I have studied several religions through my life before finding that Wicca vibes best with my personal opinions and views. Empathy has always been a very strong aspect of my inner self and something I was grateful to been so connected with.

I feel that this is part of the reason I struggle to understand how anyone can judge or try to force their opinions on others as the 'only' way it should be. For me, accepting others and their opinions, beliefs, and views was always something I saw as an opportunity to learn and gain more insight. There was a time that this was more encouraged all around, but lately it feels like those who insult and thrive on hate are forcing others to lose their voices and freedom. They hide behind religion and morals, while being hypocritical and going against those factors at the same time. This is where the below song lyrics were risen from, they are explicit but it felt necessary.
