Going to the Arcade is My Favorite 80s Memory
There was nothing as wonderful and magical as a video game arcade when I was a kid. I remember them from some of my earliest memories. Walking into an arcade was exciting, breathtaking, and just pure fun. Talk about sensory overload. We loved everything about it.

My Young Daughter Set a Boundary and I Respected It
My daughter and I have always been tight. Best friends, each other’s biggest supporters and fans. We’ve had a wonderful relationship. I’ve almost never let her down in the 17 years that we’ve been together. However, I’ll never forget the day she taught me a lesson in parenting.

My Best Mentors All Had These Characteristics
Like most people in life who work hard and achieve their targets and goals, I’ve had some wonderful mentors. Most people experience the ups and downs of having supervisors, managers, and bosses, but how many of us truly have wonderful mentors?

I’ve Never Been Dumped in a Relationship Before
The other day, I read about a breakup somewhere. I can’t remember if it was an article online, someone’s blog, or maybe even a Facebook post from someone about being dumped. I’ve seen many distraught people discussing how sad, despondent, and generally depressed they felt. My heart always goes out to those who go through such a difficult loss.

I’m Learning To Be Gentle With My Aging Dog
If you’ve been following me for some or most of the time I’ve been writing, you know that one of my very best friends is my little dog, Libby. Or Mooch, as she’s known to immediate family, a few friends, and some social media contacts. She lives up to that name and then some.

I Kicked Napoleon Dynamite’s Ass in Las Vegas
In 2014 and 2015, my Bride and I took trips to Las Vegas. Back-to-back years. No, it wasn’t because we loved Las Vegas so much that we had to do it two years in a row. It was more of a “Somebody bailed out on our plans, I guess we get to go again, now.” type of thing.

The New Little Mermaid is Black
The latest story of fake outrage in America has to do with the new Little Mermaid movie that’s coming out in May of 2023. Ariel is played by Halle Bailey, not to be confused with Halle Berry. She’s a beautiful African-American singer who was just shown in the Coming Soon trailer for the movie.

I’d Rather Hang Out in an Echo Chamber
Being a veteran of social media for the past 16 years, I’ve run into so many different types of people. I used to think that Jim Morrison was right when he sang that “People are strange” in his classic song of the same title. This never became more evident than after I joined and actively participated in social media.

It Would Take Another 9/11 Event to Unite Our Country
After spending the day with my family today and remembering this infamous date in our American history, I’ve come to the conclusion that we haven’t been as united as a nation since that infamous date. 21 years ago today, we lost 2977 United States citizens to two planes crashing into and bringing down the Twin Towers. It was fucking scary, I remember it like it was yesterday.

The New American Dream For Women
There was a time when just about every little girl in America dreamed of her wedding day. She thought of a special day in the future, where she’d dress like a princess, invite all of her friends and family, and marry her Prince Charming. Then they would buy a house, have three or four children, and live happily ever after.

Uncle Johnny Drank More Wine Than Anyone I Knew
I’m Italian. I’ve been around some wine drinkers in my day. I’ve partied with many people who chose wine as their preferred drink. Hey, if it was good enough for Jesus, it’s good enough for me. I’ve been known to throw down a few solid glasses in an evening.
