The Ship Pheonix. Top Story - August 2024.
We came for different reasons. Some of us were sad, some were frustrated, and some were just tired of living the same everyday life. Whatever our motivations, we all answered the ad. Looking for a getaway? Has life got you down? Need an escape? Take a cruise on the Phoenix. I don't think any of us still alive know if those words were a gift or a curse.

Dog paddle
The water called. The ocean waves beckoned me to go. Bourbon, a cherry, and a lemon wedge muddled among sugar at the bottom of several glasses stacked full of frozen cubes lowered my judgment. All of these factors led me to a moment, a moment when amongst the revel of trombones and saxophones, my heart began to call for freedom. A moment when a folly of a man chose to make a headlong jump deep below the crazy of unkempt thoughts that had rattled free.

Bonfires and Herbs. Top Story - July 2024.
There was a betrayer in our midst. We had no way of knowing, for they kept their evil deeds cloaked in deception. Our little village of Hampshire was taken entirely by surprise when they committed their traitorous acts. We had no thoughts to predict that at the time of our celebrating the Sun's ascension to the highest point in the Northern Sky, they would strike with a most diabolical blow. A blow that has undoubtedly left a mark burned deep into the pure white light of our hearts.

3 a.m.
3 am, the hour of my haunting. Blue digital numbers mock me from the smart clock on the nightstand sitting beside her side of the bed. Images of her soft, pouty lips when she told me I don't care if I'm breaking your heart, replay on repeat in my mind. The pain of seeing her leaving another man's bed in my nightmares cloud my vision with a late-night, early-morning horror show.

A crazy rant about a different kind of trip.
What's my best trip? Is it what I'm supposed to believe the best trip is? What they’ve told me the best trip is. An afternoon at the lake, a road trip across America with the family stuffed in the car, a journey to discover myself. Backpacking across Europe, polaroid pictures of smiling faces. Because that's what we're supposed to believe the best trips are, right? But, what if I told you that was wrong? That, that was all wrong. Because those are nice, but those are not the best trips; those are vacations.
