Response to Protocol Review Scenario: Give Some Examples I agree conditionally with the majority that it is not necessary or even possible to list all the experiments in advance. Were Rumstead to list a series of experiments that would equal the total mice requested, it might force him into scientific misconduct. Some of the experiments that he might list would be contrived, because there is no way to predict the results and direction of his research precisely. Therefore, he would conduct experiments not listed, which is scientific and protocol misconduct. Or, it would become necessary to adopt numerous amendments that the Committee would need to review.
