Chapter Seventeen: The One With The Overdue Evidence
"Can I help you madam?" A woman called out from behind her desk, her police uniform professional, her hair pulled back nicely, and her badge shiny. If I would've went this far when I had that fight with Rachel out front of the station, I probably would've already had this encounter, but I didn't, and I was unprepared for what this was becoming. It might've been harder to handle because of her lack of eye contact and focus on whatever else, that seemed careless I came by.

Chapter Eighteen: The One Where A Suspect Surfaces
"Where would you like me to start, hun?" The officer stated, but she didn't seem like much of one at the moment, and I mean that in the best approach possible. She had her make up done differently, her hair rebonded and blowing in the wind, her nails manicured, a pinkish bow-like headband at the top of her head, and a short popping-colored mini skirt to accompany her (tight) beige top. Nobody would guess her profession this way, and I had the gut feeling that's what she wanted. It's supposed to appear to be a fun day that she can go unrecognized, possibly more for my sake than hers.

Chapter Nineteen: The One With The Interrogation
"I'm Christyl Jane Digal of the Tagbilaran City Police Department, and you, Giselle Dela Cruz, are under arrest for the murder of Camille Leslie Lobrigas and your son, Samuel Taylor Dela Cruz. Anything you say can and will be held against you. You have every right to remain silent."

Chapter Twenty: The One With The Demon On Her Shoulder
"Do you know what you're in here for, Miss Omosura?" The same man said to Rachel, that sent Giselle up and out of the room she was in, and behind bars that rattled loud when shutting even from where I was sitting, to hold her there until further notice. Nothing was official yet.

Chapter Twenty-Two: The One With Live Television
"Gianni, I need you to get over here right now, and this isn't a joke. You have to meet me. There's no time." I stepped outside of the court, in desperate need for fresh air. I wanted time alone to chill, but I had to make this call to let him know.

Chapter Twenty-Three: The One Where It's Two Years in the Future
"How's the States? Should I be jealous yet?" I teased, my arms stretched up high into the air above my head, as I accepted Gianni's video call. I was laying down in my room, my foot propped up at the end of the bed, possible because of the several pillows I own. It was 3 am, because of the dumb time zone we had to fight just to speak with each other, and today was my day to make a sacrifice according to the schedule we made 'for fair'. Without it, we probably wouldn't talk as much as we do.

Chapter Three: The One With The Serious Interview
"Sit." I pointed at a couple of empty chairs in the waiting room, signaling politely to the lady behind the desk that we'd return in a moment. The demand to the boy came off more strongly than I anticipated, and I thought that even so I wouldn't feel the need to apologize, but the more time passed, the more it ate me up.

Chapter One: The One With The Fake Flower
"Oh come on! Don't worry too much about it, Shang. It's been two years. There's nothing we can do anymore. I don't think there's anything we could've done from the start. We're normal people, not investigators. Don't get ahead of yourself. Unexpected things happen. Maybe, well, you know,- she really did do that to herself."

Prologue: The One With Two Year Old Memories
The human life span, according to science, is about 70 years; 80, if a person is especially strong and healthy. Sometimes there's those certain people that even pass that up, enough that when you're alone with them in a room you can't help but feel partly afraid that they'll drop dead and you won't know what to do about it, but no matter what age it is that someone might breathe their last breath, there's one thing among every single one of them that's always the same.

Yes, in life, there will always be that one person who makes our blood boil, and there’s no escaping that. It’s simply the way the world works.

Dear Society
Dear Society, Can I be pretty too? I used to ask this question all the time. It’s the only phrase that would ring in my mind, that I couldn’t think of anything else. After a heartbreak, and later on a betrayal, the mirror told me it was an enemy I’d continuously lose to and not an angel that I could root for and be proud of. It clicked into my mind before I realized it did, that mindset, and irritatingly it was a lot harder to get rid of than it was to get there in the first place. I cannot describe how much I hated that that’s how it had to be.
