My Spring Cleaning
Cleaning up after dead people (like in this movie, "Sunshine Cleaning") is pretty extreme. But many of us have had to do just that if we have inherited estates (minus the blood and gore, of course.) My inheritance involved an old brick house filled a hoarder's collection of mess. The property also had an old trailer house that had to be torn down and hauled away, and another old small frame house. To add to the hoarding, there are four sheds/storage house slap full of everything from A to Z and a dilapidated barn...all filled with anything from fine china to old calendars, doors, knick-knacks, windows, glassware, vintage treasures of varying shapes and sizes, and then there is "just junk!" I have wanted to call in the professionals like Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz on the television show, "American Pickers," but I'm not quite comfortable with me and my junk being on public display.

Finding Myself
The minute I saw this challenge, I knew I had to write about the movie, "Summerland." Again. You see, I already entered a challenge before about why I loved this movie: https://shopping-feedback.today/geeks/i-fell-in-love-with-summerland. But, my mind (or heart) just wouldn't turn it off. So, this endeavor took me to a deeper look into myself to find the answers. The questions I had were telling.

True Treasures
It had been a scorcher that summer, the summer of 1953. But the eleven year old twins had loved every minute of their vacation away from the dreaded confines of school in their small town. They were free as far as they were concerned and felt totally alive.

Redneck Style Ready
Game Day food? Phase one Games (mid-morning ones): Wings, of course! Celery with Bleu cheese or Ranch. Fries. It's really that simple at our house. It is our tradition. No fuss and no buss. Just snacking down and watching our favorite team. Sometimes we cook them and sometimes we order out. But every time we are happy to just relax, munch on finger foods and yell at the referees.

Trade you
Imagine a game of monopoly. It's almost the end of the game, though and one greedy (but strategic, savvy) person has stock-piled the best communities and added massive properties on them, raked up all the railroads, and even owns the utilities company. The other players live in fruitless hope of staying alive in this game by others landing on their meager one home, low-class dwelling. They just want to go around the board and collect their &200.00 and get back home safely. They live in fear of the banker and are terrified of rolling the dice that lands them on Boardwalk.

Reflections (my personal)
2020...The year that would change the world for all of us. It was one of the most difficult years of my life and the events could have well killed me if I hadn't been so stubborn in my will to survive. I had help from above and from those that I cherish, too. But I had some take-aways and they were character changing.

Guilty Pleasures?
Yes, I'm guilty. And so is my son. Weekly, we are glued to History Channel's, "The Curse of Oak Island." We have been enthralled for going on eight seasons. And at times, we have watched re-runs of them. I know that this reality show might not appeal to just everyone, but it certainly does to us and here are some of the reasons why.

Wa Huhu and the Wolf
She had dreamt of a Wa huhu that autumn night. It had been a cold one and she had asked her mother for an extra fur for warmth to cuddle under. Her belly had been full of the delicious stew made from corn, beans, and venison which her beloved Elisi, her mother's mom, had made. The campfire gave them all comfort as her father and the other young men were off on a hunting trip that would last for several days. And before she had said her goodnights, her Edudu, her mother's father had taught her of the seven grandfathers. The lesson that evening had been on truth.

President Donald J. Trump
I've got to tell you from the beginning, I've always loved Dennis. He and I are both Baby Boomers having made his mark in the comic strips in early 1951. And so is Donald. If you look closer, you will see that Donald and Dennis both probably share the same barber, too. And, good gosh....don't they both just stay in trouble??? Honestly, I think they both mean very well, but it seems like they just have an innate talent to irritate others. But I love bad little blonde headed boys (I had two sons that are just like that, too.)

Moon Girls
In a 2019 Forbes article, entitled, "Which Planet Has The Most Moons? Stunning New Discovery Changes What We Know About The Solar System," senior contributor, Jamie Carter, writes: Jupiter may be the undisputed king of the planets in the solar system, but its record of 79 moons has just been smashed after the announcement of a stunning 20 new outer moons at Saturn. Previously thought to have 62 moons, the discovery puts the ringed planet's new total at a peerless 82 moons.

They are Leos...
Lions, the kings of the jungle. We love our Leos for their majestic flair and their regal authority. Their presence is always felt in one way or another. There is no denying it. When they come into your life, they impact it in ways you will never forget. Their roar is their way of announcing that impact.

When Capricorns & Geminis Collide
I was born into a world of Capricorns. Both my parents were the goats of the Universe. So was my paternal grandmother and a first cousin. I would later be further goated by a sister, a daughter, and a granddaughter. So, I had to ask, "Why me???" What was the lesson in this for such a Gemini girl?
