Bio
I love Ugly Things.
I try and be active AND interactive.
I write... whatever I feel.
Sometimes it's happy.. sometimes it isn't. But it's real. And it's me.

Caroline ran her straightener through her hair one last time. She could never get her hair quite as straight as she wanted. She had inherited the family curse of wavy hair and she couldn't be more upset by it. Caroline wanted the soft sleek shiny hair she saw on all the other girls her age. Not the frizzy blonde mess she always woke up to. "Well..." she sighed, "Guess that's as good as it's gonna get."

Love Note
The following contains things that may be triggering for some people. I wrote this when I was going through a pretty dark time in my life. Honestly, I never thought it would see the light of day. However, I do feel safer posting things among fellow writers. I've been in a lot of dark places over the years (haven't we all?) but I've finally reached a point where I'm comfortable sharing. With that being said, I'm including a link that might be of some help for anyone who may struggle with any feelings mentioned in this poem- https://988lifeline.org/

Shiver
Frisson. It's the French word for "shiver". In this case though, it's not because you're cold. It's because you are stimulated by music. Did you know that only 55-86% of people actually experience this? That was news to me. I am happy to include myself in this percentage because music really moves me, and it always has.

Drafted and Deadly
On Tuesday, December 26, 1950, in Salem, Oregon, Randall Brent Woodfield was born. Randall, or Randy as he preferred grew up the youngest of three siblings in what most people considered an ideal situation. He was from a middle class family that seemed well put together and unproblematic. His father worked as an executive at Pacific Northwest Bell and his mother was a home maker. He was popular in school. Their family was well known and respected in the community of Otter Rock, Oregon.
