The Empty
This is the third night in a row I've had these terrible dreams...I begin to fall in my sleep and pass through old places I've been before, place after place location after location. The sounds and smells of each place as I literally fall though. The falling begins to slow and I feel as if I'm floating there but I know I'm slowly falling still as I can see the last old location drift out of view... then there is nothing and I'm surrounded by emptiness and darkness. I can the ocean and I can smell the salt water but there is nothing This empty place… . What is it, is it a part of me? Seconds go by.… or maybe minutes I really can't tell but my falling has nearly stopped. Trying to orient myself against the fall I think I rolled over but still nothing but emptiness but wait... what is that I see. Why it almost looks like a pair of eyes peering at me from the empty.
