How would you guarantee peace?
Peace is a very sensitive state which takes just the slightest wrong action to trigger a set of events which will eventually lead to its destruction. It doesn’t take much to disrupt peace; a wrong look, a misunderstanding, an unfunny joke etc. Don’t get carried away, in this article I am not talking about how to maintain peace between two nations, that's way too big of a scale and way too complex a problem. I am talking about how to maintain peace at your very own tiny scale, the peace between your friends, your relatives or simply in your neighborhood.

Terrible customer service
This happened in Africa/Cameroon. I wasn’t feeling too good, and I needed to go see a doctor, so I called a clinic not too far from where I was to get information on the open hours and when I could come over for a consultation. The person managing the call center was very slow in picking up the call and even when she did, she seemed busy and in a rush to hang up, she didn’t know their open hours for consultation but rather told me she’ll call me the next day to give me the information. Going there the next day and meeting the person at the counter, it was obvious to me this person didn’t want to be there, she was very rude and easily triggered by everything I said. Keep in mind that I was feeling sickly and picking a fight was the last thing I wanted. After a polite response, I left the clinic and sought for a solution else where.

Hard work isn’t all it takes
With very little resources in my pockets, a head full of ideas and a determination to escape the difficult life that was mine, I set out to invest in my ideas with the hopes one of them will be successful one day and give me my lucky break. Being a young student just getting into college, it's quite easy to be bored out of your mind, so you look for inspiration in different things, some become fond of friends and socializing, while others focus on their studies and the gratification of good grades.

Doubtless & Fearless
Doubt and fear are very strong feelings which plague our lives in numerous ways, having control over them would be a great superpower to have. I’ll preface all this by saying doubt and fear are natural reflexes which protect us from danger or making mistakes, without fear you’ll walk right up into the jungle and challenge a lion to a fist fight, and we all know how that will go. These emotions are legitimate and profitable to us, except that they can easily go overboard, and we find ourselves with an irrational amount of them.

Misconstrued Identity
One thing which surprised me was realizing how the same person or entity could be perceived so differently. On one end a person could be considered a hero and looked upon as being a very kindred spirit full of love and empathy, while on the other end they may be considered the vilest human being, wicked and full of hatred.

People think differently, it’s ok. Content Warning.
How many times have we had this argument? 20 or maybe 30 times, I don’t seem to be able to get through to you. It really doesn’t matter how much I explain or how hard I try to communicate effectively, you just never seem to be able to get what I am saying, or maybe you choose deliberately not to understand, maybe there is a bias in your mind preventing you from accepting the truth, my truth. Looking back at it now, maybe it wasn’t a bias, maybe the problem was somewhere else. I could have guessed your experiences led you to believe the wrong thing, but I think the underlying problem comes from your way of thinking.

I used to be a prized possession, my silver glint catching the sunshine like a captured moonbeam. My proprietor, Amelia, referred to me as "Stardust," a reputation that tickled my metallic sides each time she whispered it. Peace has enemies
Even peace has enemies, there are some people out there who definitely don’t like peace, so isn’t it arrogant of you to think you won’t have enemies. I don’t think there is anybody since the history of creation who hasn’t been controversial or can’t be, everybody at some point makes enemies, regardless of your actions or words sometimes. Somewhere, somehow, someone already hates you either because of your ethnicity, race, nationality, religion, skin color or even gender. I am guessing that’s just the beauty and diversity of the human nature, it would have been pretty boring if we all just got along easy-peasy without any problems.

What you are up against
I think it will come as no surprise for me to say that the world is evil and corrupt. It doesn’t take much to shift into the dark side, far from me to justify the evil people do, but that decision sometimes is one of survival or greed. It's a lot easier to be an evil person than it is to be a good person and so many people make that choice when enough pressure is put on them, I don’t think there is anyone who intentionally likes his life to be difficult, so it takes the battle to the moral ground.

Talking with a friend of mine recently, he said he felt life was passing him by, and he felt insecure about how things were moving. This raised an important question in my mind, why would he feel that way? why would he think to himself that life was passing him by?
