What you are up against

I think it will come as no surprise for me to say that the world is evil and corrupt. It doesn’t take much to shift into the dark side, far from me to justify the evil people do, but that decision sometimes is one of survival or greed. It's a lot easier to be an evil person than it is to be a good person and so many people make that choice when enough pressure is put on them, I don’t think there is anyone who intentionally likes his life to be difficult, so it takes the battle to the moral ground.

The difference between us is now established by the morals we choose to uphold, that's why you can’t trust a person who has no morals or principles, they will always choose the easy way out which favors them above everybody else.

For the rest of us who choose to hold on to our morals and remain good people despite all the harm it might bring onto us, it's important for us to realize what we are up against. We live in the same world with evil, corruption and all types of bad things, we just can’t ignore it and pretend it isn’t there. For some they became tired of fighting the system, they decided to embrace it and become corrupt, while others chose the difficult path of fighting against evil. These things I say them literally, at your job, in society, in your neighborhood etc., people are going to choose the easy way out which favors them even when they have to put their morality aside, some will take bribes, some will tweak the results to favor them, some will change the system to work in their favor, some will; lie, steal, destroy and do everything it takes to make things go in their way.

In the meantime you who stay true to your values are held in constraints by how much you can do; you can’t steal, you can’t lie, you can’t destroy and you can’t tweak the system, not because you don’t have the power to but because you have morals you hold dearly to your heart, whether it is from religious beliefs or from a correct upbringing. Now you have to compete against these persons who don’t have all these constraints. How do you do that?

How you can win

The two main reasons which lead people into choosing the evil ways are greed and survival at all cost. So the way you can win is by not being subject to the same factors, by not being enslaved by the same master as them. You can fight greed with contentment, by being happy and satisfied with what you have already you take yourself already out of that competition and avoid so much evil, that doesn’t mean you can’t aim for more or be ambitious, but you aren’t doing so at all cost or trying to compete with evil people on their own terms. Whatever you have already is good enough, getting more is Grace.

Now survival at all cost has led so many down the wrong path, they’ve abandoned their morals and did so much wrong to others simply because they put their own survival above everybody else, one person takes what belongs to another because they give privilege to themselves, they hurt others if that would make them advance somehow and so many other things. It's just by having love for others that you get to avoid this infernal circle, always strive for fairness and justice and hold dearly your morals close to your heart. Treat others like you would like to be treated, even when they don’t.

Competing against evil people, there is no way you can win if you are fighting on their terms, you have to bring them to your terms where they have no chance of victory, bring them to a place where fairness and justice are prevalent, and then they can’t win. If you have for example a colleague who cheats and lies all the time, you can’t win if you try to argue with them, but by simply letting your work speak for itself, that's the only way you get to win.

Conclusion

You are up against an evil world with people who are unscrupulous and who will do anything it takes. Holding on to your morals and competing in your own terms of fairness and justice is the only way you can win against such people but playing their games and letting them lead the way is sure to cause you only harm and distress.
