Life is Full of Sweet Things
Europe Sweden Kladdkaka is a popular dessert. It is a delicious chocolate cake prepared with eggs, cocoa or chocolate, butter, sugar, and flour. After baking the center should be moist and the outside of the cake should have a thin, crunchy coating. It is dusted with powdered sugar.

The Pike Place Market is an extremely popular place for both residents and tourists. Here one can find practically anything from fresh food, to souvenirs of Seattle and much, much more.

The state of Bavaria is located in southeastern Germany and borders Lichtenstein, Austria and the Czech Republic. There are many wonderful cities to visit and many delightful things to see. Nuremburg is a city known for its medieval architecture, stone towers and incredible castles.

American Renaissance Sculptor
New York and Rome Augustus Saint-Gaudens was an Irish-American sculptor who came into this world on March 1. 1848 in Dublin, Ireland. His mother was Irish and his father was French. His parents immigrated to the US when he was just an infant. They settled in New York City.

Spicy Food Cajun Style
Cajun cuisine can be called rustic cuisine as it uses locally available ingredients and the preparation is simple. An authentic Cajun meal is usually a three-pot affair – one pot for the main dish, one for steamed rice, skillet cornbread, or some other grain dish, and the third with whatever vegetable is plentiful and available. Some chefs call the aromatic vegetables bell peppers, onions, and celery the holy trinity of Cajun and Creole cuisines. Finely diced and combined in cooking, the method is similar to the use of the mirepoix in traditional French cuisine which blends finely diced onion, celery, and carrot. Characteristic seasonings include parsley, bay leaf, green onions or scallions, and dried cayenne pepper.

Mysterious Doings in San Francisco and Brookdale
The Whittier Mansion is located on the side of a hill in the exclusive Pacific Heights district of San Francisco. It was built in 1896 by William Franklin Whittier who was the head of what would later become known as the Pacific Gas and Electric Company. This four-story mansion has 30 rooms and is built of brick, wood and red sandstone. It survived the great 1906 quake and was home to Whittier and his family until he died in 1917. In 1938 his heirs sold the mansion to the Deutsche Reich and it became San Francisco’s German Consulate. In the post-war years, it was used as a Philosophical Institute until 1956 when it became home to the California Historical Society. The society also gave tours of the mansion throughout 1993 when it again returned to private ownership.

Pablo Picasso and His Art
Artist Pablo Picasso is well-known for his impressive artworks among them abstract paintings such as “Guernica”. There are many museums all over Europe in cities like Paris, France, and Barcelona, Spain which devote entire displays to the art of Picasso. His paintings and artwork can cost more than $100 million at auctions. The artist died on April 8, 1973.

Once the capital of Japan, Kyoto is a city on the island of Honshu. It is the cultural capital of Japan and a major tourist destination. It is well-known for its many classical Buddhist temples, impressive architecture, and lovely gardens.
