Dear Julia,
I’ve been reading a lot of your books and constantly revising your material - your work, your lessons. I'm realizing that as I read your books, especially “Floor Sample”, it makes me want to write and publish my work constantly. As well as, work on art and publish it constantly, and do the same with my dance work. You make it seem so easy despite feeling “low” at times, or wanting to consume alcohol or cigarettes, or in my day and age, cannabis. You did tamper with certain substances when you were in your 20’s, in Hollywood, a famous director’s wife. You soon realized that being drunk and having blackouts, wasn’t the best idea for you, nor was it good for your writing in the long run. Your support system around you emphasized that fact too.

How I manifested my dream apartment
A small note: this is my experience and my desire. I do believe in manifestations and the universe is listening and all of that. We all have different paths and different timelines to achive our desires. I write to inspire you to go after your desires and have faith and patience, and gratitude. We're not in a race or competition against one another - we're simply helping each other to take the next steps.

Adele is my soul therapy
So this is my Saturday afternoon, listening to Adele’s “30” album, released at the end of last year. I've already studied it since it's release and it’s truly a masterpiece and so personal. I feel like it’s her therapy sessions. As a dancer, it forces me to move slowly and enjoy each bass, each background vocal.. and the space.

I come from a family of early risers. My grandma wakes up early, my mom wakes up early, even on the weekends. When they have nothing to do or nowhere to go, they probably subconsciously understand the importance of it, without realizing it.

The custodian from Ethiopia
I only met him a few times. He cleans the laundry room in my apartment complex, usually when I’m there. We say hi, and only recently our conversations are more fleshed out. He likes me, I can tell from the way he looks at me. However, he’s leaving soon, for another job, tomorrow is his last day, I found out from today’s conversation.

Why I haven't quit my part-time job yet.
There are a lot of reasons why I haven’t yet left my part-time job of 4 years. What I thought was just a temporary job in my university career, turns out to be my main source of income (right now), which is still temporary. I feel pressure from my parents (especially my mom), who well, wants me to do better, but think that a ‘linear’ path is a 'successful' path - like my dad, and that path worked for him. For me, not so much.
