Musical Digest: Interview with Sam Ashe
Last month, I had the pleasure of speaking with Colorado-based producer and independent artist, Sam Ashe. He recently released his latest single “Hair Dye” which is his formal introduction as a solo artist in the indie music space. The single touches upon the fallacies of a one-sided relationship, in which one person is infatuated while the other remains aloof. If you’re a fan of bands like The Strokes, 1975, Wallows or Dayglow, chances are that you may have stumbled upon this single within your “suggested songs” or “shuffle radio playlist”

Kream Catapult into 2025 at Prysm Nightclub - Chicago
Whoa! I cannot believe how insanely quick this year has passed us by. I feel like just a second ago I was blasting KREAM in my apartment, getting ready for their show at the Concord Music Hall during a cold, frigid February night in Chicago. That night catapulted me into a sequence of thoughts about my direction in live music coverage. I obviously missed it immensely, but also couldn’t help but notice that the EDM scene has vastly changed since my prime. Nevertheless, as soon as I was ready to head for the door, I encountered a girl who can be easily described as “the rave mom”. She was beautiful, but most importantly she was kind and unequivocally exhibited the good ol’ mantra of PLUR. Peace, Love, Unity and Respect…Something I was certain we’ve lost, but no…through the Liquid Lab visuals, deep house basslines, groovy and catchy rhythms complimented by some of the most chilling vocals, the power of PLUR was not omnipresent. We still had it.

MK's Technicolor Performance at Prysm Nightclub - Chicago
Back at my stomping grounds, across the velvet rope and with the electrifying touch of multicolored strobe lights is where I feel most at home. Right away, your senses are greeted by an intense mix of signature scent fragrances and the booming of the bass which hugs my insides and shrinks my pupils as I immerse myself further into the dance floor.

House chart-topper, Becky Hill at the Riviera Theater - Chicago
I went out on a somber Tuesday night and made that my entire personality…it was a brisk November evening, but that didn’t stop me from wearing my favorite tight mini dress and lacy tights. The crunching of the golden autumn leaves crunched underneath the weight of my white Doc Martens as I made my way across the street to the venue. After all, it was going to be an evening of many firsts.

Musical Digest: rewind ft bladee x charlie xcx
I press play and hit “rewind”... perhaps it’s confusing, but despite its desire to go back in time, I play it on a loop. By this point, every Charlie XCX angel has declared their favorite track off of the brat remix compilation.

A heartbreak that changed my life…
I have ruined something that may have been beautifully catastrophic. It’s amazing that while one person may be falling in love with someone on one side of the city, another person may be taking their last breath in a dusty motel room.

Decrepit Door Hinges
“There was only one rule: don’t open the door.” Sandersen’s warning kept echoing in my brain as the locked wooden cabin door was practically coming off its hinges from all the constant banging. Someone from the outside, resembling my father, was trying to bypass the safety net of my wooden door.

Musical Digest: Honorata Skarbek "Wonder Woman"
Women…we all love ‘em and we sure as fuck can’t live without them. Women have dominated the box office, the music charts and quite literally created a rift in the economy for the better. Women are strong, tenacious, and influential. They make things happen.
