A Weekend Hill Walk
Introduction This is a challenge I set myself in the article below to write a totally positive fiction story. Quite rightly people suggested writing a children’s story, but I do tend to make things difficult for myself. Although this story refers to adversity for others in the note (you will see what I mean when you read this), this is an adult story that is totally positive, although children could read it or be told it. I hope that you enjoy it and would love to hear your opinions in the comments either here or on Facebook.

Three Witches
For some reason, I was thinking of the Three Witches who foretold Macbeth’s rise to become King of Scotland and his eventual demise. I wondered if I could write a poem about their conversations and activities leading up to Macbeth's arrival. Obviously, it is All Hallows Eve so that may be something to do with it.

Louise Distras
An Interview With Louise Distras I first met Louise three years back supporting The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing at The Cluny 2 in Newcastle. I was really impressed by her performance and grabbed a copy of the "Street Revolution" EP (there's a link to my review at the end of this piece).

Some Electric Light Orchestra Favourites
Introduction I know a lot of people will disagree with me because I won’t include “Mr Blue Sky” which I find trite, boring and overplayed, but I will tell you a little about how the band were formed and the original idea behind it.

Some Vocal Statistical Observations
Introduction I know this will probably be of no interest to a lot of people, whenever I bring these things up with people the lack of interest is almost deafening but I am going to write about it anyway. That is the good thing about platforms like Vocal and Medium is that you can write about virtually anything you choose and it will be published. Whether people will read or not is a different matter, but it is other people’s choice whether to read what you create and produce.

Street Revolution by Louise Distras
Introduction Today I recieved a Facebook friend request from Louise Distras. I was a little suspricious at first as spammers and the like take names and then send friend requests, then mine your friend list to spam them.

Darkness Comes
This is a villanelle for Halloween from a prompt by Cathy Holmes here, but as always I make it difficult for myself. I am trying not to include any definite Halloween touchstones, but also am putting together a reading of my Edgar Allen Poe inspired “Another Raven” that you can read at the end of this poem.

Brevity
The Idea I was wondering how little I could get away with writing in a poem. Taking the concept of brevity as far as I can. I did posit the concept of a one-word poem in my poem “Impossible” (check it out at the end of this story), but I will do a FIB (Fibonacci poem) followed by a Haiku.). I am expecting no reads for this, not because people don’t read it, but because the poems are so short and people will not stay here long.
