The Mystery of the Gobi Desert Monster. Content Warning.
In July 1990, four Czech adventurers embarked on a quest to locate the elusive Mongolian deathworm, a creature speculated to have inspired the monster featured in the film Doom. Believed to inhabit the depths of the Gobi Desert, they traveled to Mongolia, rented an ATV, and enlisted local guides to assist in their search for this formidable creature, which can reach lengths of up to six feet, possesses the ability to spit corrosive acid, and can emit electric shocks. Legends suggest that these creatures prefer to conceal themselves beneath the sandy dunes, emerging primarily during the wetter months of June and July, making their timing seemingly ideal for a sighting. However, the team faced the challenge of attracting the creature, as its dietary preferences remained a mystery; they constructed a thumper, a device designed to produce rhythmic sounds in hopes of luring the worm to the surface. Despite two months of traversing the expansive desert, including dunes and rocky terrains, their efforts yielded no results. Ivan McCurley, the expedition leader, returned to the Gobi Desert on two occasions, initially attempting to draw the creature with loud blasts and later utilizing a small aircraft for aerial reconnaissance. Over the years, numerous expeditions from the United States, Britain, and New Zealand have sought the deathworm, with many individuals traveling independently from around the globe, yet none have succeeded in finding it. The Western world first learned of the Gobi Desert's mega worm through American paleontologist Roy Chapman Andrews, who, in 1926, documented the creature in his writings. During a meeting with Mongolian officials, Andrews received detailed accounts of the creature's appearance, described by one as resembling a two-foot-long sausage without a head or legs, and noted for its extreme venom, which could be lethal upon mere contact.

10 Scary & Mysterious Videos . Content Warning.
The notion of an uninvited presence with unknown motives lurking in a baby's bedroom is enough to instill fear in anyone. Captured on a Nest nanny cam, the footage begins with a baby crying as it attempts to climb out of its crib, displaying surprising agility for its age, likely between one and two years. The situation escalates when the child stands upright, wobbling yet maintaining an unnatural balance, as if an unseen force is supporting it. The baby reaches out, and such stability at this young age, especially on the narrow edge of a crib, is highly improbable. The child's cries intensify, leading some to speculate that it may be perceiving a ghostly figure. As the screams peak in terror, the unseen force appears to release its hold, causing the child to fall back into the crib, narrowly avoiding injury, and continuing to cry in distress. While some argue that the entity may be trying to comfort the child due to a lack of adult attention, skeptics claim the video is staged, suggesting that subjecting a child to such distress for the sake of a ghostly hoax is more disturbing than the haunting itself.

5 Creepy & Mysterious Paranormal Events . Content Warning.
We appreciate when our viewers share unique stories, images, and videos with us, and the following submission is no exception. Chris reached out via email with an intriguing old photograph of a now-demolished building in Hobart, Tasmania. While exploring archival photographs on the Libraries Tasmania website, he discovered Roxboro House, constructed in 1820. Initially described at auction as a spacious three-story stone residence that would be a charming addition to Hobart Town, the building's fate took a turn for the worse. After its conversion into a hotel in 1834, known as the Golden Fleece, it fell into disrepair and earned the unfortunate nickname "The Rat's Castle," as homeless individuals created entry points in the walls. Tragically, during this time, two infants lost their lives within its confines—one was fatally stabbed, while the other was accidentally killed by an intoxicated mother. The Rat's Castle was ultimately demolished in 1879, and the site was sold to Scottish schoolmaster Alexander Ireland, who oversaw the construction of the current Roxboro House by 1880, with Scotch College attached to the rear. The college operated there until 1900, after which Roxboro House was converted into apartments. The photograph Chris provided depicts the house before its demolition, revealing a man peering out from the top window and bystanders near the front fence. However, the identity of a ghostly figure in the front doorway remains a mystery. While we lack further information to ascertain whether the building is haunted, the peculiarities captured by the old camera certainly provoke curiosity. What are your thoughts on this?
