The Big Splash!
“I told you,” I began running towards the end of the dock “TODAY IS THE DAY!” My heart raced as I heard my feet pound on the wood with every step. As I reached the edge, I used all my might and leaped into the air. I jumped so high that for a moment I felt like I was soaring… while in midair I realized that in all of the excitement of convincing all of my parents I was old enough to go into the ocean and embrace being a mermaid, I completely forgot that I have not been in the ocean since I was born. And that was ten years ago. Needless to say, I don't know how to swim.

Alec and Marie
My chest pressed into his back, my arms clung around his waist holding on with all my strength, and my hair hanging out of my helmet whipping in the air… I have never felt more free. On the back of the motorcycle as we raced through the streets, I felt my cares disappear. The wind was so loud I could not even hear myself think, but I felt so me. So complete.

Magnolia
"Ms. Tully… please call for Magnolia Riley to come to my office right away." Principal Sherwood hung up the phone and leaned back in her chair as she tapped her fingernails on her desk. A few moments passed before there was a knock on her door. "Come in."

Bear Creek
"Yeah, I just got home from the interview… I think it went really well… I finally got the cable and internet set up, so I am just going to have a quiet evening in… no I don't need you to order me some food… I am going to sage the apartment, light some candles, take a bubble bath and then sit down so I can work on writing this bloody novel… " A young woman in her late 20s with long sun kissed blonde hair and eyes of amber freckled with brown was pacing around her small and relatively barren apartment while talking on the phone. “Don’t June me, you know I moved here so I could write… It’s just so stressful… It’s not about the divorce, I mean not really. It is a part of it, but mostly it's about the novel. I mean I am a writer who can’t write, and I think the change will help me… Well thank you for listening to me… I love you too sis… Okay Bye.”

A White Dress and Chocolate Frosting
Ring… Ring… Ring… Ring… Ring… Ring… "Hey you've reached Cami! You know what to do." Beep. "Camilla, it's your mother. Kyle told us you called off the wedding and your father and I are worried about you. Do you just have cold feet? We really do not want to have to cancel everything. You know we are not worried about the deposits, but your father's coworkers and the CEO were planning on attending. And it would reflect poorly on the family to cancel. Well, anywho, give me a call when you get this Camilla. Maybe we can have you and Kyle over to sort it all out. Love you bunches, Au revoir!"

Stillness and Darkness
It was simply stillness and darkness. The doors flung open, and the light flooded in, illuminating the dust swirling around throughout the barn. Her shadow loomed over the emptiness. She just stood before the doors in silence. The dust began to settle, and she took a deep breath. As she exhaled, she let out a soft sigh and reached out her right foot to take a step. She paused before bringing her foot back.
