What is the Relationship between the Body and the Mind
To get started culture created the distortions and distinctions for there is a connection between the body and the mind. There is a 'dualism' where the mind and body are two distinct entities. The Early Greeks thought that they were separate, but most contemporaries views do not agree with this. There is also 'monism' a physicalism where we are all but one substance that is very reductionistic. Our physiology determines us with variations. Warren Brown a non-reductive physician recognized the biological nature, but does not ignore the consciousness for we make conscious decisions from the top to the bottom and causal influences.

Explanations of Abnormality
What are some of the various explanations of abnormality? In history there were three group theories one was that abnormality was supernatural, another said it was natural and still another theory said it was psychological related to stress theories. The supernatural theories thought that abnormality was abnormal divine interventions like demonic possessions or caused by personal sin, and cure was to show a form of atonement. While the natural theories suggested that abnormality was related to diseases of the physical sense where some breakdown in the body systems occurred. The cure was to restore the body to good health. The psychological stress theories were a result of traumas or personal losses such as bereavement or even chronic stress, and the cure was to be rest and relaxation with maybe a change in environment and maybe the use of some herbal medicines.

Right now I believe I am going to give a short review on the first two chapters. So what is Abnormal Psychology? There are four concepts of this subject such as does the issues do harm or is destructive and are they not socially accepted. The core concepts are that issues and concerns are repeated and examined in and about an abnormal behavior. It is the context in which a particular behavior occurs along with the circumstances of the situations that occur that causes the behavior(s).

Please Keep Reading
After so many years here on Vocal.com I believe I am finally getting more reads. I am really appreciating the likes that I am getting for my writing. When I first started here my idea was to share what I have learned from all my years in college, and the best way, I thought, was to rewrite all my lecture notes into article form.
