Grandma And Glitter
For as long as I can remember I have loved glitter. I mean heck why not? A little sparkle just adds a smile to things in my opinion and I have been glistening up things for years. Whenever I get my nails done in a salon I pick a pretty neutral color then have the manicurist top it off with some twinkle and it just pops! I love glimmer for formal wear and complimentary pieces to add in to my wardrobe. It is just so much fun to me and especially so during the Christmas holiday season. When everyone else is complaining about glitter all over the floor and carpet from ornaments, tinsel, wrappings and whatnot, I just buzz around the house humming while I vacuum. Glitter just never completely cleans up and I always giggle to myself thinking it is just completely awesome!

Playlist of a 90's Stripper. Second Place in Melodic Milestone Playlist Challenge. Top Story - June 2023.
In my 20s, I loved clubbing and dancing the night away. A couple of weekends a month, I would get a babysitter for my two young daughters and hit the club scene with my girlfriends. It was a great way to unwind, socialize with old pals, and meet new people. I enjoyed getting a break from my usual mom gear (t-shirts & jeans, or sweats) to swap out for some heels, a sexy new dress, a fresh hairdo, and makeup. Oh, those sure were the days. My friends and I could move on that dance floor which caught much attention.

Sledding in the Berkshires
It is the brink of the 2020 holiday season and unlike any, we have ever known. One way or another we will all try to do our best to salvage traditions in light of social distancing. Perhaps gift shopping is best done online which isn’t terrible since most of us shop online already. Technology will provide virtual visits when travel and gatherings are not safe. I know it seems really impersonal maybe even lonely but these are the times we are currently living in. Even if things cannot be the same as years gone by we will all have to find a way to get into the holiday spirit and make the best of things. Personally I am excited for our first snowfall not a dusting but at least a couple of inches. Although this is something many would rather do without but for me it brings back some wonderful childhood memories.

How Cold Pressed Coconut Oil Healed My Scars
As a teenager I had pretty bad acne and tried everything on the market that I could get my hands on to make it all just go away. Unfortunately nothing worked. In fact some of the products were quite harsh; drying out my skin, some even irritating my skin further, causing more breakouts. I was also guilty of squeezing and popping pimples; a big no- no. To try and cover it all up I would pile on foundation and makeup. This actually drew more attention to my face and my skin continued to suffer. I endured this all throughout high school and in cycles into my adult years. Finally things settled down and in my 30s’ I found myself acne free for good!

She Is Foxy
With some convincing by Mom here, my daughter gave me permission to enter her costume in for this contest. My daughter, Blessed, portrays Foxy Brown to the tee! Although her outfit is more of a rendition from the film Coffy, my child’s interpretation of Pam Grier is nothing short of stunning. She is a natural beauty with an absolutely gorgeous afro. She certainly does the 70’s justice with her depiction. While there is great likeness to Foxy, my daughter’s inspiration for her look did not initially come from Pam Grier or any of her movies. My daughter was looking for a costume where she could comfortably wear her natural hair. Upon recommendation of my oldest daughter, Blessed was thrilled to represent Grier’s Fro and be foxy.

The Malevolent Salem
I was looking for something new to watch when the pandemic hit and my son introduced me to the American anime Rwby. It was an instant winner for me and I wasted no time watching all 7 chapters. I am now patiently waiting for chapter 8 to be released in November. Rwby, created by the late Monty Oum, is set in a futuristic world called Remnant. The story centers around 4 teenage girls who meet at Beacon Academy in a city called Vale. The girls, along with the other students, train to become warriors called hunters and huntresses. Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long make up team Rwby who set out to fight monsters called the Grimm and protect the people of Remnant.

Body Art And Beyond; An Exercise In Humanity
A VISUAL EXERCISE After viewing the amazing video portraying some stunning works of body art, I would like for you to take a few minutes and imagine that the entire world of art is gone. Like a wave of a magic wand, art has been completely wiped off the face of the planet. Museums and galleries are gone. There are no more paintings on walls just barren partitions dividing rooms. Statues and sculptures are missing from landmarks and there are no more murals within cities. Everything just seems empty without any personality. In addition, music, live theatre and films are a thing of the past. Any and all things embodying art are history. Body art is gone too. This includes: tattoos, piercings, cosmetics, and all alterations or modifications to the human body. Television, radio and books still exist but for informational purposes only. Cell phones also remain but solely for communication. Those cute little emoji’s that everyone loves to send family and love ones are no more! Take a few minutes and imagine your life now as the only remnants left of art are within your memory. Oh, before I forget, while all art is now extinct, there is something weird that has happened to you. You are completely tattooed and now have piercings adorning your nose, eyebrow and lip. Stay tuned because this is about to get interesting.

Angel Baby
There are so many things that happen in our lives for which we simply cannot explain. For this challenge I have submitted a photograph taken over 20 years ago which captured a true surreal experience. Instead of portraying something spooky, which could potentially haunt one for a time to come; this picture embodies an angelic encounter. I have often drawn upon the positive energy emanated from this event over the years whenever I have felt down and needed a sign of hope.

My Salem Tarot Reading 2019
In the spirit of everything spooky I thought it would be fun to share my tarot card reading experience in Salem, Massachusetts. Last Halloween my family and I took a trip to Salem to enjoy the festivities. I decided beforehand that I was going to get a reading so I did some research and read reviews on the area shops prior to my trip. Personally I have a lot of knowledge about the tarot and have read cards for years but there is nothing like having another person doing the reading for you. Ultimately after scouting out the various merchants my intuition led me to a place called Fatima’s Psychic Studio.
