Oh, to dream of eating peppermint snowflakes

While making snow angels; gazing up at the sky

On a December afternoon as the flurries cascade

Rolling winds ripple through me; my lower lip shakes

Yet solstice sun smiles upon me; her ever-watchful eye

Oh, to dream of eating peppermint snowflakes

Up and down arms, side-to-side legs, angels displayed

Giggling while splashing a dusting into each eye

On a December afternoon as the flurries cascade

A season of candy canes; not one of tooth aches

Mother Nature treats me an endless supply

Oh to dream of eating peppermint snowflakes

Sticking out my tongue for my sweets to be paid

One after another, rewarding my peppermint high

On a December afternoon as the flurries cascade

Childhood memories for soothing heartbreaks

The stillness of winter as I let out a huge sigh

Oh to dream of eating peppermint snowflakes

On a December afternoon as the flurries cascade
