Bio
I am a 78-year old grandmother who loves to write, fish, and grab my camera to capture the beautiful scenery I see around me.
My husband and I found our paradise in Punta Gorda Florida where the weather always keeps us guessing.

Nanny's Legacy
A visit to my grandmother’s house always offered remarkable stories. It didn’t matter if they were rhymed poems, prose, or plain stories. She had probably over a million thoughts to share. As a little child, I was mesmerized by everything she said, whether her words were true or made up. As a child, I never knew the difference, nor did I care. It was time spent with my grandmother and she never failed to entertain me.

Poseidon Claims Another One
Ah! Poseidon – the god of the seas and waterways, creator of storms, and bringer of destruction. For now, we’ll forget that he’s also considered the god of horses and earthquakes. Living in Florida, I can only imagine him with his trident in hand, wreaking havoc with the seas. Every time we experience a severe storm, I think of him and his anger – what caused it this time?

The Last Parade
I always looked up to Frank, not just because he was taller than I was, but also because he was my big brother. We were born in an era where our parents taught us to look out for each other; big brothers were to be treated with the same respect as our parents, and they were taught to take care of their little sisters.

BOB
She never complained. If she had a ferocious headache, she’d sit quietly and have a cup of tea. If she had aches and pains with arthritis, you’d never know it. She did her best to remain active. That’s why when she said to her husband, “I think I need to go to the hospital”, he didn’t hesitate.

Strawberry Shortcake
Every few weeks, many of my friends and I get together for lunch. It’s been a habit of ours for several years. Each month, we try to pick a different restaurant, however, that is decided upon how many of us are attending, since we try to sit, if not at the same table, at least close.

The Iron Man
Because I was eight years old and the only girl in the neighborhood at that time, my ten-year-old brother always let me tag along with him and his friends. Although he made me feel welcomed and like “one of the boys”, it wasn’t until I was much older that I realized I never did actually participate in their games. Being older, my brother felt very protective towards me and made sure none of his friends made an issue of me hanging around them.

Did You Hear That?
No one has ever accused me of being one hundred percent normal. Even as a child, I was a little on the strange side. My parents noticed as did my maternal grandmother. While I’m not totally positive when it started, I was aware of being “different” when I was six years old. The year was 1953.

A Witch's Walk
You never know what you might see on a beautiful summer day while walking through the woods. A squirrel munching on an acorn. Or perhaps, a rabbit foraging for a patch of grass. Maybe you might see something completely different, out of the ordinary, something that sparks your imagination.
