My body and mind grow old Yet my heart has remained the same Over years I’ve learned Ways to conform and hide Creating clever disguises
Frozen, He stood breathing But barely Parted lips, failed at control Soft quick darts of air were inefficient Relief came when his lungs tore out
Your voice manages to still speak to me How many miles is too far? I am tired of running Each night I lay in your lap Breathing your presence
