How My Wife's Affair Saved My Life
When the end of my marriage came, it felt like the end of the world. However what it was the end of was years of toxic abuse, physical violence, and psychological, mental, and emotional torture. At the time the only good thing in our marriage was my young son. And as much as I loved the boy I could not justify staying in such an abusive relationship out of my love for him.

It Came From Out Of Space
James was in the cardiology department of his local hospital having his heart scanned. "How old are you?" said the cardiologist with a tone of surprise creeping into his voice. "I'll be 150 years old next week." replied James matter of factly. "That's impossible, no way." exclaimed Dr Lucern. James showed his birth certificate to prove his age. "But how?" Dr Lucern asked. "When I was in my twenties I found this." said James as he fished an odd looking stone from his pocket. "Never had a day's illness since I found it.They say it came from out of space."

A Family Affair
It was a beautiful summer’s morning in the middle of June, a day that is etched in my memory for all the wrong reasons, though it started promisingly enough. For a start, it was my birthday and the sun had his hat on and was coming out to play. My three young children were already up and about, waiting for me to get up and go downstairs to make them some breakfast. My wife was ahead of me in the bathroom, so I made my way downstairs to tend to the kids’ needs for some chow. Already thinking about the day ahead and what it might hold in store for me, I had a spring in my step as I descended the two short flights of stairs.

A Strange Meeting
It was a stunningly beautiful Autumn day, the azure blue sky acting like a blank canvas on which nature had decided to paint a masterpiece full of vibrant natural colours. A mosaic, leaf-confetti littered pathway led off to a vanishing point far off in the distance. On both sides, lines of skeleton trees, devoid of their summer foliage, stood like sentinels guarding the pathway to heaven. To each side mid-life evergreens acted as a natural bulwark to protect the open parkland behind.

How To Deal With Bullies At Work
The thing about bullies is that deep down they are nothing more than cowards. They try to use intimidation and fear to get what they want. Unfortunately, their victims fall all too easily into the trap of being afraid and give in to their demands. In many cases, if not all, bullies are people who have themselves been bullied and have learnt how it works. Ergo, bullying is not genetic, it is learnt behaviour. But you do not have to be a victim to bullies if you calmly sit down and think it through to yourself and see it for what it really is.

Five Signs That Tell You If It's True Love
These days to say "I love you" seems so glib and insincere it's often difficult to know if somebody is telling you the truth. Politicians and actors are the worst culprits in devaluing those three little words. In Hollywood they say success is all about sincerity, once you can fake that you've got it made.

How To Have Your Big Mac And Eat It
To be honest, I was never really a great lover of McDonalds from the get go. However, there have been many times when I had very little choice, it was a Big Mac or go hungry. When I worked on the road as a constantly on the go salesman I just had to grab whatever I could and get it down my neck as quickly as possible before moving on to my next appointment.

Why Marriage Is Going Down And Divorce Is On The Rise
There was a time when people, my parents generation, married for life. "....until death us do part" weren't just the insincere words of an oath, they were words of a heartfelt promise that both parties had every intention of keeping. Not any more. These days it seems to be "....until I can see a clear advantage in not being with you any more."

How We Fall In Love
I have read, thought and written much on the subject of love over many years and in all that time there was always a nagging question prodding me from the back of my mind, how can you love somebody you don't even fully know. And even if you do fully know somebody, you only think you do.

The Road To Happiness In Marriage
It is a well known fact that divorce is a lot less problematic when there aren't any children involved. You just split everything down the middle and go your separate ways. End of story. However, bring kids into the equation and everything changes, for the worst.

The Joy Of Making A Noise
It was Christmas Day 1964 when I first learned the art and the joy of making a noise. My hardworking mother had somehow found the wherewithal to buy a Dansette record player and half a dozen singles. Of those six singles the only ones I can remember are 'Six Fools' by Texas Bill Strength, 'Wait Til The Sun Shines Nelly' by Buddy Holly, and 'She Loves You' by the Beatles. The first two really didn't do anything for me to be honest. 'She Loves You' set me on fire. This was the first time in my life that a sound set the hairs on the back of my neck on end. It really was such a beautiful noise.
