The Sister advancing down the stone corridor would have already seen my candle flicker. Snuffing it was no use. Perhaps it would make me look guiltier. The stubborn little flame was honesty, of a sort.

    The line about drawing velvet over her voice is so striking, the whole story was, but that was just a really good line

    Now that they are together, they have two options IMO. Either sneak off in the night, running away to the Americas, OR mutiny, take over the convent, and force the other nuns to accept them.....
