Sinking to a New Level. Top Story - June 2025.
I’ve always been a water person. I grew up in Minnesota, the Land of 10,000 lakes. I always had a river in my backyard. My brothers and sister and I were always swimming or fishing in the summer, running around barefoot. Until around my sixth-grade year, our place had a hill leading down to the Fish Hook River, which froze solidly enough to drive on every winter, which people did, to haul out their icehouses. Neighbors came from all around to sled our hill, making jumps off the docks onto the ice. Fun times!

Cat and Mouse
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. I was relieved to see a sign of potential civilization. Being a woman driving alone at night made me nervous, and now my fear of breaking down had become a reality. All I wanted to do was attend my 10th high school reunion, but someone had scattered some nasty-looking pieces of metal on the road. Three of my tires were punctured. I skidded to a stop, halting at the top of a steep ditch.

Cool Drinks for Summer
There's nothing quite like a refreshing frozen drink after a summer day of playing or working in the hot sun. Not only does it hydrate you, but it also cools your core body temperature. With choices you cannot find in fastfood establishments or restaurants and fresh ingredients, you can make a beverage better than anything you could buy.
