20 Summers Ago.
As the summer of 2022 comes to a close I’ve reflected on it with a lot of great memories. Like every other time period in my life it was the music of the summer that really set the tone and captured the essence of the time for me. With all the good times I’ve had this summer I’ve really been taken back to a time period of which this summer reminds me.

Birth of a Universe.
No one can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say… I can hear many, in fact, it seems like it is all I can hear nowadays. My name is Xenus and my universe is dying. The screams I hear are the voices of the inhabitants of the other worlds surrounding my world in the distance of the Galaxy. Their worlds are dying just like mines and as these planets collapse into oblivion the voices of the billions who live on these planets scream in agony amidst the demise of their home. Today is supposed to be the day my world ends, oh the thoughts that cloud my mind when I think about how I will surely die later on this day.

Coslife
I've been a geek and a nerd for entertainment culture my whole life. Whether it's my favorite music, film, literature, or even video games, I'm the biggest fanboy for the things I love. Growing up these were things I always had the most entertaining conversations about with family and friends. I always enjoyed talking about my favorite movies, TV shows, books, and comic books etc. Little did I know at the time that there was a sanctuary for nerds like me who enjoyed these things. These sanctuaries are called conventions and they go by names like Comic Con, Galaxy Con, Dragon Con, and Wonder Con. They happen multiple times a year and they take place all across the country with many fans and celebrities of entertainment culture coming together to celebrate fandom as one.

The Hip Hop Express.
Earl is sitting in a seat on a train with his head down and his eyes closed in a deep sleep. He is suddenly startled awake by the sound of Gangsta Rap pioneer, Ice T's voice playing on the train's intercom. "Six in the mornin' police at my door, fresh Adidas squeakin cross' my bathroom floor. Out my back window I make my escape, didn't even get chance to grab my old school tape". The song being played on the intercom is "6 in the Morning" by Ice-T. As the song continues to play, Earl is slowly coming to and looks around to find three other young men also just waking up from a deep sleep. Two of them are sitting across from him, while the third young man is sitting right next to him.

Jordan Peele: A modern day Auteur.
When the film Get Out made it's debut in early 2017 fans were in for a mind warping treat. Jordan Peele, a renowned comedian of the modern day was gracing audiences with a horror film, something very far removed from the comedy for which he was known. Get Out hit theaters in February of 2017 and it was a psychological thrill ride of likes that no one had ever seen before and for that we give thanks to Jordan Peele, a modern day auteur.

Lake of Flames
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night a candle burned in the window… Driving up the road in a green van, Kevin, Michael, Rita, Liz, Jade and Devon are all on a trip to Greenwood Lake for their yearly get together. They had all been taking this trip together since high school, but now that everyone is getting ready to graduate college it carries a much bigger significance. "I still don't understand why I have to be the one driving this old dump truck of ours on this long trek to light a freakin' candle" said Kevin in a sarcastic tone. "Because you drew the short stick" replied Devon, while lightly tapping him on the back of the head from behind his seat. "For nearly 8 years we've been taking this trip and now this looks like the last one we'll get to do for a while" said Rita sitting to the right of Devon. Everyone briefly sat quiet as Rita's words started to set in. "Guess this really is it" said Jade in a tearful tone. "Ms. Hardly ever talks just threw her two cents in, that's how you know this is serious" said Kevin playfully.

Marvel Cinematic Universe: Life after the Endgame.
It's been three years since Avengers: Endgame hit theaters and not only became the biggest Marvel film of all time, but the highest grossing film ever. It's not hard to understand why Endgame became the film ever, it's conception was over a decade in the making. Avengers: Endgame marked the end of the first generation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and though Marvel had great success with Spiderman: Far From Home just a mere month's time later, the impact of the eventual 2020 Pandemic would make it nearly 2 years before the MCU would grace the world with its net release.
