From Dust Til Dawn
September 11th 2021. On the 20th year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, four strangers who are linked by the history of September 11th, 2001 come together. One of them is a 30 year old banker named Jason. Another one is a 35 year old firefighter named Elaine. They are joined by a 57 year old retired army officer named Joe, and a 45 year old videographer named Freeman. When Jason was 10 years old he watched the attack on the World Trade Center while spending the morning with his mother in lower Manhattan. When Elaine was 15 years old her father was one of the firefighters that gave his life in the twin towers. When retired army officer Joe was 37 years old he helped save a lot of lives at the Pentagon when it was attacked on 9/11. When Freeman was 25 years old he lost a family member on United Airlines flight 93 who fought to stop the plane from reaching its target that morning.

Climbing for 9/11: Why We Walk
In between September of 2013 and 2015 my I saw my former high school English teacher, who I am close friends was posting on social media about this event she was taking part in called the 9/11 Stairclimb. She informed everyone following her that the event was a fitness and commemoration tribute to the rescue workers who perished at the World Trade Center on September 11th 2001. I thought it sounded like an interesting event to take part in because 9/11 had a big impact on me my whole life growing up. In 2021 on the 20th year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks I would finally become active in the 9/11 Stairclimb.

Child of the City
Hi! I’m a 10 year old boy and today I have the day off from school. I have a doctors appointment for a routine check up scheduled for today Tuesday, September 11th 2001 at 12:00 p.m. Normally I don’t like my check ups because they’re so boring, but at least I get to miss school for a day and go with my mom to work for the morning. We live in Staten Island, New York, but my mom works in lower Manhattan just a few blocks away from the twin towers of the World Trade Center. My dad also works in lower Manhattan where my mom works, but he’s off work today because he’s sick, so he’s at home in the bed. I have an older brother and two older sisters, they were jealous because I was a lucky fool who didn’t have to go to school today because of my check up.

Fight of the Phoenix
Good morning everyone. It’s 7:15 a.m. in Newark, New Jersey and the date is September 11th, 2001. I’m on my way to Newark Airport so I can catch my flight to the Bay Area of sunny California. I love the west coast. I wish I was going for vacation, but this time it’s for business. I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to take my wife and kids out there sometime in the next year, we’ve all been planning on it for a long time. So I arrive the airport and not surprisingly it’s just as busy as it’s always been, but it doesn’t take long for me to get my tickets and get to my terminal. Looks like I’m first in flight on United Airlines flight 93, nonstop from Newark to San Francisco.

Battlefield Washington . Content Warning.
Good morning. It is 8:55 a.m. on September 11th 2001 and I am getting ready to make my way to my office inside of the Pentagon in Washington D.C. I’ve been a Petty Officer here at the Pentagon for sometime now and I love my work in the military right here at our nation’s capital. I love my homeland and everyone in it and I love knowing that I’m doing my part in not only defending my country but other nations around the globe as well. As I walk inside I’m greeted by my fellow military personnel and they are just ready for the day as I am.

Outstretched Arms. Content Warning.
It’s 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday September 11th 2001. and boy do I feel good. I’m on the train headed to lower Manhattan where I work as a broker in the north tower of the World Trade Center. I love what I do and I love the people I work with. So I’m just now getting off the train with a cup of coffee and a bagel in hand. I guess you could say this is my battle gear. It gives me the energy I need to do what it is I do and now I’m headed for the towers. I’m at the plaza area of the towers and even though I walk through here everyday to get to my building the beauty of this area never gets old. I feel so lucky to work at the deluxe office in the sky. After entering the building I make my way through the war zone we commonly call the ground lobby and get inside the packed elevator.

Tuesday Away. Content Warning.
Good morning. It’s 6:35 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11th 2001. You’re probably wondering who I am. Well, I’m a fireman for the FDNY in New York City. Though I work in New York I actually live in New Jersey with my wife and three children. It’s time for me to get up for the day so I can go guard my city, but I gotta do it quietly so I don’t wake up my family, they can be kinda grouchy in the mornings. As I get a shower and get dressed I look out of my bathroom window and I can’t get over how clear that sunny blue East Coast sky looks this morning. I can tell it’s gonna be a peaceful day.
