Free Your Mind. Top Story - November 2025.
John Hope opened his eyes and found himself lying on a stiff mattress. The mattress was striped and worn out and was covered by a grey comforter that felt like a scratch pad on John’s back. He sat up on the bed and looked ahead and was greeted by the sight of iron doors. John was in a jail cell, but he couldn’t recall why. “What am I doing here?” He thought to himself. “I didn’t commit a crime. I didn’t kill anyone. I don’t even have a criminal record. So why am I in a jail cell?”

Thanks Ma
Dear Ma, aka Ruby Lee So I know it’s been a minute but I’m writing this letter hoping that the angels pass it along to you in heaven. Guess what mama? You won’t believe what I just did recently. I actually wrote and published my first book. Crazy right? I felt like you of all people needed to hear this good news because if it wasn’t for you none of this would’ve been possible.

I Am An Author
Hey wassup. Stop what you’re doing and lend me your eyes for a few minutes so I can tell you the story a little boy who grew up to be an author. Now this kid’s name is Joe and he’s from North Carolina. Growing up like he did, education was very important to both of his parents. His parents didn’t play about school and trust me, he learned that the hard way.

I Published My First Book
What do you do when you’re a writer and life seems like it has just gone completely down the drain in the past year? Well for most of us melodramatic writers you just typically write about it. I know, big duhhh. But for me, I decided to take it a step further. I have been saying for the longest time that I was gonna write and publish my first book soon, but with everything I’ve had going on I just never got around to it. So earlier in the year after a publishing company reached out to me I decided I was gonna take this as a sign to publish my first book.

The Day Eddie Died
Let me take you back. So it’s Friday night, November 10th 2005 and I’m staying with my godmother Rosa Newkirk after having just moved to Greensboro here in North Carolina. She’s the biggest wrestling fan ever and so am I, and we’re watching WWE’s Friday Night Smackdown. At this time we were currently in the middle of the Raw vs Smackdown Survivor Series storyline and we are fully locked in. Right before the final segment of the show one of our top favorite wrestlers takes the ring, Eddie Guerrero aka Latino Heat.

A Veteran Named Ruby. Top Story - November 2025.
What do you get when you take a rough neck from the south and a wild child from the west and put them in the US Navy together? Technically you get me because the rough neck and the wild child are my parents. The wild child is my mother, Ruby Lee Spencer and it was because of her that I learned what impact the US military has on civilian life.
